Also, about 380 million are planted here every year. numbers are from industry sources but these wouldn't be particularly contentious

The English version of Vikingane, Norsemen, was good for this. They recorded it both in Norwegian and in English and the Norwegian accent improves the quality of the jokes imo.

I do have the canadian version of this and I did do some crafty media backup so I have the copies ripped as media files, but I want blu-ray/streaming versions instead of another DVD series otherwise I would jump on that!

Mary Ellen Carter is a banger. A lot of his songs are about how working people get chewed up and discarded - The Last Watch for example, or Tiny Fish for Japan being about the impact of pollution and globalization. my favourites are about how eastern Canada is heaven on earth and that living away from it is painful (Loch Keeper, Free in the Harbour, The Idiot, Sailors Rest) for no reason whatsoever connected to my circumstance, I assure you.

I would presume part of the intent of planting trees would also be to use them to build poo poo because that's basically carbon sequestration no? As entertaining as it'd be to revert england back to the roman era I'd assume a lot of the trees would be planted on the same land and cut down and turned into products rather than making them out of plastic.

Anything other than elves that sound like they were in Footlights.

Just fill a quarry full of mud and throw some seeds in, that's a concave forest done in no time. After a few years the trees start planting themselves.

Certainly in the South West the focus is on rejuvenating the temperate rainforest, aka the Atlantic Oakwood forest to give it its slightly more Elder Scrolls worthy name, rather than commercial forestry. Certainly has its place though, we should be using more wood in buildings.

I have a buddy who keeps saying this, he's a woodworker and house builder though, specializing in old Scandinavian type log buildings and working a lot by hand. Says a properly built log house will last for centuries and so the carbon in the logs are bound up for centuries too. We do have log houses over a millenia old in scandinavia. He is also quite angry about modern forestry management, to sum it up, quantity over quality.
