Committing mischief is fine. Committing mischief on mischief committers is also fine. Mischief which can be avoided by not committing mischief is perhaps the most fine of all. E: also "random teen mischief" nearly always involves rich kids targeting minorities and the poor so 99.9% of them deserve every counterattack that can be brought to bear. Don't have them run into hydrants or 2' tall steel girders embedded 6' underground, install an adjustable bollard. Record what kind of car the kids are using, and raise it just enough to tear the poo poo out of the underside of the car, and hide it with leaf bags or snowmen or whatever. Or one-way spikes to shred the tires. Or just find nice jagged rocks you can partially bury to tear up undersides or tires.

An adjustable bollard or spike strips indicates that your intent was to cause harm and you'll probably be liable for damages.

You can't set boobytraps around your house but you can definitely defend your home by diving in front of the car and parrying it when it tries to take out your mailbox. https://twitter.com/naciomartinez/status/975132715891740673?lang=en

I mean, someone driving up onto laws to smash snowmen and mailboxes is being more than engaging in a bit of mischief. That is downright reckless behaviour that could easily end in injury or death for someone outside of the car. So if they run into a hydrant snowman while they are driving on the lawn/sidewalk, gently caress them.

Indecisive posted:there's enough idiots on the planet already maybe let the harmful ones die I don't agree with this but tbh if the kid is ramming a snowman fast enough to kill him if he hits a fire hydrant that's... kinda his fault. What if there were a kid around or something. What if grandpa was putting out the trash. What if he lost control and careened into someone's house. I mean we had that happen in the UK and our houses are brick and mortar and it was bad, but apparently Americans build houses out of wood n poo poo so that's even more dangerous. Pyroclastic posted:Or one-way spikes to shred the tires. Or just find nice jagged rocks you can partially bury to tear up undersides or tires. If the kid is going fast enough to kill themselves then the rocks are going to do something horrible and very dangerous to not just the kid but everyone around. Fighting games in particular have a huge and dedicated fanbase around Latin America.
