The only valid reason to play engie is to try to put a sentry and teleporter in some bizarre weird place they shouldnt be. Like in the enemy's flag room

Man, Spy feels really good when you run past a guy and whip around and stab his rear end. On the other hand it sucks when you get up behind a guy whos been facing the other way for like 5 minutes and he turns 5 degrees loving up your backstab somehow.

No one is going to know what I'm talking about but here goes. Several years ago (2012-13? if not earlier) there was some kind of I think charity showmatch- either community vs pros or just some regular showmatch. Either way, at some point they brought some pub engineer onto one of the teams and I remember laughing my rear end off at the weird stupid poo poo he was doing midmatch. I think either the tf2 thread at the time or twitch chat were going nuts over him. I realize that's vague as hell but I've looked since I remembered it out of the blue a few days ago and I can't find it. figured it out 2 minutes after posting ofc (pubstars vs pros battle of both worlds). can't find the commentary i watched, but that might just be gone into the ether. It's a big deathmatch cube. It's quite good for the sort of thing people actually play ctf for.

2fort isn't just the worst CTF map it might be the worst map in the game. It isn't good for anything including Team Deathmatch

The thing that makes Turbine worse is that it's harder to defend your Intel, thus much harder to keep up the TDM aspects going properly, while with 2Fort it's pretty simple to keep your Intel safe

DoubleCross is basically 2fort done right and used to be my favourite map but no one seems to play it. I still fondly remember lurking as a permacloak Your Eternal Reward spy and waiting minutes for the engineer to let his guard down before stabbing him and wrecking everything and running off with the intel cackling

Smissmiss Update is out. Somehow, in 2019, TF2 is the #4 game on Steam right now behind CSGO, DOTA2 and PUBG. Edit: just Cosmetics and Cases, nothing game changing.

Reason for idling after an update? It's crates. First day of an update, new crates sell for about $2 for the first hour of the update, then drop until eventually a few days in they get down to the cost of an average crate. Otacon fucked around with this message at 22:02 on Dec 17, 2019 |

At least they're not counted as the careers that go to Valve to die. Would not be surprised if a lot of issues at this point are from everyone with actual talent quitting Valve when they want to actually do something with it, leaving an increasing majority of the remaining stuff just coasting.
