Here's what the newly minted tory MP that beat Dennis Skinner had to say about the election:

"Four things came up repeatedly on the doorstep. The first was the Labour leader, and his unsuitability to be prime minister. Resident after resident told me how they could “never vote for that man”. After the Labour manifesto came out, I’d regularly hear jokes about the free broadband offer. Jeremy Corbyn was probably the greatest asset my campaign had. There was a clear sense that he didn’t love our country, didn’t understand working-class communities and only seemed interested in students and cities."

This really mega sucks for you guys.

Like even under two years of Trump and a Republican congress in both houses at least like some of us could enjoy having blue state houses and/or governors. And I guess the Scots, Norn Irish, and Welsh have their equivalents of such things.

But for the English is there like... anything at all shielding you from full on Tory apocalypse right now?

Never mind the fact that this stinks of "college campuses and coastal elites" horseshit, why would you take the word of a Tory that they'd tell Labour what actually hurt them in the election, if doing so would mean Labour, who is their political opponent, would perform better in the event of another election?

Not sure how true that is considering Trump got elected with all major news outlets against him. Corbyn was slandered alot by the media, but most of the people I spoke to who were brexiteers voted for Boris just on the basis of brexit alone.

The working class have voted brexit. Most of the oldies who voted conservative will die because they can't afford to heat their homes, and their grandchildren will utter "told ya so granny, but at least you get to die alongside your white neighbours, Doris, and Linda."

I think once the tories don't have brexit anymore, labour will bounce back. Unfortunately it may come at the cost of watching the NHS taking its own trip to A&E.

remember, one of the ways johnson kept the rees-mogg crew onboard with this deal in the first place was by promising that it would keep no-deal on the table down the road. now, the ERG itself hasn't got that much influence due to the size of johnson's majority, but brexiteer sentiment is tremendously strong in the tory party at the moment so lol
