The Last Jedi seems so much better now. Kylos story in the second half was good and Palpatine is always fun but otherwise that honestly kind of sucked.

another thing I’m baffled about in this movie (I’m baffled about a lot in this movie) is that they introduced this idea of the force also having this like, life force healing energy magic, and make it absolutely integral to the plot. like it’s not midi-chlorians levels of bad but it’s close.

I dunno Ridley and Driver probably did have better chemistry and the Kylo story was the best part of the movie but it really felt like Finn was missing a reason to be there.

I wouldn't be surprised if, going forward, Disney just decides to place everything they do onwards in the time between the original and sequel trilogy, much like the Mandalorian. This means they still get to create lots of new things, don't need to acknowledge the sequel trilogy at all and are also allowed to slather everything in nostalgia. The sequels will just exist in a vacuum, never to be addressed again.

I hope they incorporate the new movie into the fabulous Galaxy's Edge theme park. After you wait in line to go to the cantina and experience all two of the rides for $130, a Palpatine cast member personally force yeets you back into the parking lot.
