I haven't listened to the recent stuff but I had the impression all their material was fairly similar in style, they seem to have most of their discography available on bandcamp: https://stinyplamenu.bandcamp.com/music I suppose you could check out Master's Hammer and maybe Maniac Butcher for more good czech bm.

Železo krvácí is my favourite album of theirs.

And yeah, you can't go wrong with Master's Hammer since they were obviously a big influence on Stiny Plamenu.

edit: as mentioned you can buy directly from them on bandcamp if you want digital. If you want CDs for some reason you can order them from https://barbarianwrath.bandcamp.com/merch

further edit: if you're near Southern Germany or willing to travel there is a chance to see some cool bands next year.

As you may or may not know, the founder of Barbarian Wrath Records (and before that Nazgul's Eyrie Productions) Hartmuth (aka. BlackGoat on various forums) slipped into a coma back in 2017 following illness and he died three months ago. His wife (who ran the Witches' Brew record label alongside him) is now arranging this little festival.

speaking of nazgul's eyrie, i listened to dawnfall - dominance of darkness recently and that is a strange record. just kind of amateurish black metal songs that don't really go anyway in particular with a guitar tone like an angry wasp. pretty cool but definitely an acquired taste.

I’m kinda bored of that brand of bm but the guitar tone is too intriguing to not listen to.

It's a really good album. It's almost a shame that the term "war metal" refers to a specific sound because Vanum's music evokes that term pretty excellently.

Here's to ya, JACKASS
I did a lot of branching out musically this year and I'm much better off for it, but that's not to say that metal as a whole has not had a stranglehold on me because I think it will until the day I die.

In no particular order, my favorite '19 releases are as follows:

First Days of Humanity - "Remains" [goregrind]
Nephilim's Noose - "Rites of a Death Merchant" [death/doom]
Sedimentum - "Demo" [death]
Musmahhu - "Reign of the Odious" [death/black]
Devourment - "Obscene Majesty" [brutal death]
Human Effluence - "Promo 2019" [goregrind]
Malignant Altar - "Retribution of Jealous Gods" [death]
Nihilsect - "Verge of Collapse" [black/crust]
Fluoride - "Disentanglement" [grind]
Ripped to Shreds - "魔經 - Demon Scriptures" [death]
Takafumi Matsubara - "Strange, Beautiful And Fast" [grind]
Teitanblood - "The Baneful Choir" [black/death]
Spotlights - "Love & Decay" [sludge]
Blood Spore - "Fungal Warfare Upon All Life" [death/doom]

All of these can be found on bandcamp.

Might as well chime in with my list of the year. It will be pretty heavy on the old school death metal stuff.

1. Nocturnal Hollow - A Whisper of a Horrendous Soul Dirty old school death metal from Venezuela.
2. Malignant Altar - Retribution Of Jealous Gods old school US death metal with some nice Morbid Angel influences.
3. Bones - Diseased Crusty death metal from Chicago. Extremely good.
4. Soulrot - All Hail the False Kings Imagine your average south american death metal band and then imagine them playing old school swedish death metal.
5. Sadistic Ritual - Visionaire of Death Thrash metal with some death'y vocals. Very fast, very cool.
6. Aseptic - Senses Decay Filthy, crusty death metal.
7. CIST - The Frozen Casket Russian band that sounds like if you crossed a late 80s/early 90s Florida death metal band with very early Sodom.
8. Sickbay - Dissonance Slow, sludgy death metal. I guess a bit like Obituary.
9. Crush the Altar - Abhorrent Oblation This is a band that calls themselves a thrash metal band, they sound more like an old 80s south american death metal band to me.
10. Detherous - Hacked to Death Canadian death/thrash metal. For fans of Demolition Hammer.

Honorary mention:
Ectoplasma - White-Eyed Trance Greek death metal. Very old school, very good.

All links go to bandcamp, this all poo poo I've posted here in this thread through out the year.
