But there's a good chance there won't be anyone there to receive it, and there's no mailbox (I guess there might be a slot in the door?). What they do here is either attempt the delivery again or make you go to the post office/depot and pick it up yourself. Which I don't want him to do since he's currently getting around on a loving scooter. In general yes, most will just leave thepackage. You can look for options that require a signature or allow you to instruct them to e.g. deliver to a neighbor.

Varies from carrier to carrier but you may be able to ship to the nearest hub or customer service center for "hold for pick up."

There’s a Steam sale on, so I got two games I wouldn’t pay $15 apiece for but $3 was an easy sell. Gone Home was one of my favorite games of the last few years, and I’ve wanted to play I Am Bread since I saw Justin and Griffin McElroy play it for Polygon.

Bought a tumi alpha 3 business class brief while taking a poo poo on a vacation (corp benefits email came in offering it at like half price). Just arrived and I'm stoked (pic not mine) I have a goruck gr0 that I travel with and two things always annoyed me - the lack of any airflow at all through the back padding (meaning my back gets sweaty real quick even in cool climates), and how it didn't have a pass through for a spinner handle so it could sit securely on a my carry on like the tumi shoulder briefs I use for work. I'd sorta cross the shoulder straps over the handle and have the backpack kind of hang loosely off it, which looks stupid and is prone to spinning on the handle and toppling the whole stack over when I've got a bunch of heavy poo poo like laptop / tablet / camera in the goruck. The tumi solves both of these problems excellently, though I wouldn't spend full retail on it given how fucky their warranty and service quality is reputed to be LUBE UP YOUR BUTT has a new favorite as of 12:23 on Dec 25, 2019 |

The Prong Song posted:I'm just gonna take this opportunity to shill for Joeveo again. You can have a problem with their lids, or not like the sleeves, but they're still IMO the best travel mug there is, for the simple fact that they near-instantly cool your hot beverage to a great drinkable temp, and then keep it that temp for ages. Not just vacuum-insulated, they use a waxy phase-change material in the mug walls to store the thermal energy. Yeah, $40 ain't $9, but man they work great at keeping your stuff hot for a long time. So I bookmarked this when you posted about them and bought one for my wife for christmas as this is her chief complaint when taking coffee to go - It's either too hot to drink for too long, or it cools down too fast and winds up tepid. Sadly the lid leaks so I'm returning it. I don't see how their lid could ever seal up with that metal tab to close it. Unfortunately $9 target specials have that figured out, so a $43 mug should definitely have that basic design down. (She also posts so I didn't want to comment here until she saw it. )

Not really a purchase, but my dad gave me my great grandpa's pocket watch for Xmas. My dad bought it for him back in the 70's. My great grandpa gave it to my granddad when he died, and then he gave it to my dad before he died. Guess I need to have a son real quick so I can pass the thing on again.

My great grandpa gave it to my granddad when he died, and then he gave it to my dad before he died. Guess I need to have a son real quick so I can pass the thing on again. Hello, little man. Boy, I sure heard a bunch about you. See, I was a good friend of your dad’s. We were in that Hanoi pit of hell together over five years. Hopefully, you’ll never have to experience this yourself, but when two men are in a situation like me and your Dad were, for as long as we were, you take on certain responsibilities of the other. If it had been me who had not made it, Major Coolidge would be talking right now to my son Jim. But the way it turned out is I’m talking to you, Butch. I got something for you. This watch I got here was first purchased by your great-grandfather during the first World War. It was bought in a little general store in Knoxville, Tennessee. Made by the first company to ever make wrist watches. Up till then people just carried pocket watches. It was bought by private Doughboy Ernie Coolidge on the day he set sail for Paris. It was your great-grandfather’s war watch and he wore it every day he was in that war. When he had done his duty, he went home to your great-grandmother, took the watch off, put it an old coffee can, and in that can it stayed until your granddad Dane Coolidge was called upon by his country to go overseas and fight the Germans once again. This time they called it World War II. Your great-grandfather gave this watch to your granddad for good luck. Unfortunately, Dane’s luck wasn’t as good as his old man’s. Dane was a Marine and he was killed, along with the other Marines at the battle of Wake Island. Your granddad was facing death, he knew it. None of those boys had any illusions about ever leaving that island alive. So three days before the Japanese took the island, your granddad asked a gunner on an Air Force transport name of Winocki, a man he had never met before in his life, to deliver to his infant son, who he’d never seen in the flesh, his gold watch. Three days later, your granddad was dead. But Winocki kept his word. After the war was over, he paid a visit to your grandmother, delivering to your infant father, his dad’s gold watch. This watch. This watch was on your daddy’s wrist when he was shot down over Hanoi. He was captured, put in a Vietnamese prison camp. He knew if the gooks ever saw the watch it’d be confiscated, taken away. The way your dad looked at it, that watch was your birthright. He’d be damned if any slopes were gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy’s birthright. So he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide something. His rear end. Five long years, he wore this watch up his rear end. Then he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable hunk of metal up my rear end two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.

I hosed up and ordered this. It's region B (US is region A). It's only available on DVD for North Americans. So if anyone has a -Region B- Bluray player and wants to watch this (it looks very good, watch the trailer) I'll ship it to you. Or if anyone has a work-around so I can watch this, let me know. I don't have a BD-Rom so I can't mess with it that way.

Have you googled if there are instructions on how to make your bluray player region free? Sometimes that's a thing and it can be as simple as 'enter this for digit code while in this menu'.

Got this in the mail today. Been aiming to buy 1 of these a week in hardcover until I have the series finished. Got delayed and didn't buy any in early December thanks to Christmas, but now I'm back on track. Waiting on this to come in the mail tomorrow. Been using one of the older stickerless speedcubes for a long time, figured I was due for an upgrade finally. Read great things about this one.

On the left is the real Pietrangelo Blue Banner stanley cup champs jersey my brother got me for XMas. On the right is an absolutely real looking Binnington stanley cup champs "knockoff" from China that I got for $20. Super happy with both. I honestly can't tell if the adidas Binnington jersey is fake or not. It looks 100% real.

Bought the Lego Statue of Liberty: Figure it won’t be long till lego retires it, because that’s what they do with good stuff. Also bought an Air BnB for Chicago here in a few weeks, near wicker park. Super geeked to get back there, this time gonna do the stupid big Starbucks and McDonald’s HQ international foods (it’s important to dream big). Might hit up one of the museums if there are any really compelling exhibitions at the moment, but we spent almost the entirely of the last two trips making the museum rounds so I’m thinking it’s time to branch out a bit. I have no idea why I keep visiting Chicago in the winter though... I’ve only been wanting to do the architectural boat trip for like three years now.

I bought a sack of weed. Also I’m a huge World of Warships fan (console version) and I picked up the USS Boise and it’s a real blast. I know people roll their eyes at spending money on a f2p game but wargaming uses a lot of those funds to do incredible amounts of historical research and has actually changed some ideas about ships and tanks that were once thought of as common wisdomq
