Yeah I did 2x UAC10++ 2x LB10X++ with plenty of ammo, extra armor and double heat sinks. If it doesn't blow the head off it just kind of chews everything to pieces.

Jump jets are kind of dumb on it because it only takes 2, which means it jumps as far as it walks I think.

The real benefit to mounting JJs on assaults isn't for the distance you travel, but so you can easily position yourself with whatever side has the most armor facing the enemies. Just replying on nomral movement restricts what your facing can be and sometimes being able to move even a short distance and whip around 180 degrees is a huge boon.

UAC10-20s, Gauss Cannons, LBX10-20s, season to taste and/or equipment availability. Lots and lots of ballistic damage is the name of the game because of its unique system so just load it down with the big dakka and balance out the heat as needed.

i havent taken it out yet because im waiting for a five skull urban mission, i wanna see if it can kill an assault mech in one salvo without precision shots. if it doesnt its gonna be shutdown because one alpha strike is almost 200 heat lmao

also quad gauss rifles on the anni was actually kind of underwhelming. the range is great but the ammo endurance was kind of poor even with four of the -2 ton gauss rifles, and the damage wasnt as good as a loadout of ultra autocannons

How come in all the recent Annihilator build pictures, no one is using heat exchangers? It would seem that with 2 UAC20s (plus extra stuff), a heat exchanger is more efficient than a regular heat sink. Or am I missing something?

People hate heat exchangers. I love em. Most people also don't run assaults that did 460+ damage a salvo pre HM

I haven't seen all that many in my career run or I would! They're really good if you Always Alpha, which you should

I have like five in my speedrun campaign though lmao. A shitload of heat bank+s too which actually aren't as useful as I thought they'd be.

Also backing up cuts the distance you can move walking, while jump jets can go as far backwards as forwards. Plus avoiding terrain. I've had mechs that could only fit 2 jump jets, but I still had them just to hop up or down cliffs etc. And many more where I probably *should* have dropped a jump jet in favor of 1 more heatsink.

But the extra move distance is by no means a small benefit, it's hard to get flanks at 95u moves. OTOH an annihilator doesn't need flanks.

Max front armor. Four or five of the best ballistics you can currently get. Enough ammo for 8-10 rounds of shooting. Some MLs if it runs too cool.

Same. Also how I learned about 20% of people who buy the game finish the campaign, which is probably pretty in line with most strategy campaigns, I guess.

After all, I've owned the game since basically launch, but took a big ole break for nearly a year or so.

Dekker ate poo poo in my game when my lance of mediums got stuck in between 2.5 lances of lights and mediums. Still the most difficult mission I've had, probably because I went "water? I should stay in it so I can fire more" while neglecting any cover.

The Gray Death Legion, and its commander's, primary claim to fame is getting almost annihilated in an all but fanatical (justifiably) defense of the Helm Memory Core in 3028. In saving that memory core from Comstar's proxies, they give the Inner Sphere the ultimately unrealized potential to pull itself back up from ruin and are forever remembered as an example to selfless, good hearted, and effective mercenaries everywhere.

But she's gonna die.

Hey Q_Res, throw this quote into your OP or 2nd post so the answer to this frequent question can be "page 1"!

Which system tags should I be looking for to get the heavy metal guns and upgrades?

Filter for the following:

* Battlefield: Actuators & Gyros
* Chemical: Missile weapons, Flamers, Inferno racks
* Electronics: Laser weaponry and TTS computers
* Industrial: Cockpit, Heat Banks and Exchangers
* Mining: Autocannons. Base models guaranteed, Heavy Metal variants randomly rolled.
* Research: PPCs of all types, COILs, Narc beacons, TAG lasers, ECM and Active Probe gear.
* Star League: Lostech.

Also, is there a way to override a save that is marked as unloadable due to changed mods? In this case I know it will work fine, I was testing a thing that makes zero changes to game state. But I now have a save I made career progress in while testing that can't load unless I re-add the mod.

Had a 3 star mission where I was helping some other mercs take on two lances of mechs in a city. The cash payout was really high, so I went full cash. Second mech I see is an Annihilator, and I manage to headcap it with my Griffin. There was also an Archer -2S that I accidentally headshot. With 1/5 salvage.

Moral of the story is Always Full Salvage.
