We live close to a super large cemetry, it's more like a wood from the looks. People often go there to bike or stroll. One day, my son pops one of the inevitable question: Dad, why are there these large stone plates on the graves? Well, it's because sometimes the dead don't stay dead. They rise again and walk around at night, craving for the flesh of the living. We call them zombies. It's like in that game that you play, plants vs. zombies. These plates are there, so that the mean dead people can't get out. Etc., it all falls wonderfully into place, why's there walls around the cemetry, why does it close after night, etc. I even told him about the priest that guards the cemetry at night, who roams the area with a latern, ready to strike down zombies with his sword. They call him the Gravemaster™. (There's a walled compound right in there) Yes, that's where he lives. The zombies can't get in there. That's why the walls are so high there.

Has anyone posted meatdad yet because lol My (19F) Dad (40s M) has an obsession with buying exotic or illegal animal meat and is why my family fell apart. quote:So my dad has always been a kind of strange guy but I never really noticed. I was used to it and that's just who he is. He isn't mean but doesn't talk much, very busy with work, doesn't seem to be interested in anyone's life, that kind of thing. When I was a kid gradually our relatives stopped visiting. My dad wasn't in contact with his family, but my mom's used to be around alot. Then they stopped. I remember hearing my mom fighting with her parents a couple times. I gathered they didn't like my dad. I haven't seen my cousins in years. We used to be close as kids. I was never one for social media, but recently reactivated my facebook and decided to look up some of my relatives on a whim.

Racist nephewquote:I am engaged. My fiancé is from India. My brother’s family hadn’t met him yet, and my nephew will be 17 come spring. We planned to drive my old convertible (we fixed it up) and give it as a surprise Christmas gift and then fly back. His parents knew about our plan, but they didn’t warn me that their son was a militant racist. My sister-in-law just told me he was at a “difficult age.” When we arrived, my nephew wouldn’t shake my fiancé’s hand and sneered at us. At lunch, he made inflammatory racist remarks about “immigrants.” I tried to change the topic, but my nephew bulldozed on. His parents just sat there. My fiancé told my nephew that he and his parents are as American as anyone at this table and he’d better educate himself. My nephew called him a raghead. I got up and told my fiancé we were leaving and to go pack the car. This got a response from my brother and sister-in-law. They yelled at their son to apologize, and I told them it was too late to try and be parents. They failed. And I wasn’t going to give a car to a budding Nazi. My nephew seemed to realize that he screwed up, and his parents did nothing but try to spin the situation. My fiancé and I had been at their house less than four hours. We drove to a motel. He is angry, and I am furious and heartbroken. I rarely get to see my family since I live so far away. My brother left a dozen messages on my phone. I haven’t listened yet. My fiancé and I will be spending Christmas in a motel and driving back. Our tickets are a waste. Lunch was over 20 minutes, and my brother and his wife didn’t breathe a word against their son. They just sat there. I don’t know what to do or what to feel. I considered myself close to them given the distance. We talk on the phone. They knew my fiancé’s background. I never expected this. How do I go on from here? quote:You’ve done everything right, I think. It makes sense that you’re still “catching up to” your own feelings, as it were, because everything you thought you knew about your brother’s family changed almost instantaneously and irrevocably. I imagine it will take a long time for you to work through your grief and anger over their profound commitment to racism. Right now your brother is attempting to wear down your defenses by demanding you pay attention to him, leaving over a dozen messages—but you have direct evidence that when it actually mattered, he couldn’t be bothered to do the right thing. For 20 minutes he listened comfortably while his son hurled racist abuse at you and your partner; the only reason he’s panicking now is because he’s afraid of the consequences, not because he actually cares about you two. Take all the time and space you need, and give yourself permission to delete those messages. Let him know that you need time before you’re ready to hear an apology from him. Find someone else who can use the car, prioritize spending time with people who don’t use racial slurs toward your partner, and let them figure out how to deal with the consequences of their choices.

God I can't handle how stupid 50% of shares mom is. Like she didn't even say she did it because she needed to raise money or take on investors, she literally did it so she wouldn't go mad with power. She specifically set up a situation where she did not have majority control over a thing, gave large parts of that control to people that were outright hostile to her or intensely and unforgivably stupid, and then acted surprised when control was taken away from her.

And she literally went mad with power and they kicked her out. MIL "smirking" and being the deciding factor probably won her a ton of support from the other shareholders. The husband is a huge moron for secretly giving away the shares to the MIL, but given that the wife probably never met with a corporate lawyer for the purposes of shares, company structure, etc. they are perfect together. OP in the comments says "Oh well I'll just start a new business" like its no big deal. I can't handle how stupid reddit is for obsessing over the MIL aspect. You start getting YTA comments after the first 2-3 most upvoted comments specifically pointing out that the share system worked exactly like she intended from the start only she expected family to 100% back her when even her oldest most experienced employee was leading the charge to push her out.

Restaurant attempting to sue me for using basic recipesquote:Hello. About six years ago, I worked for a soup and sandwich restaurant in my hometown while attending college. My employment there did not end on good terms. Last year, the owners of this restaurant made several very controversial political remarks primarily about immigrants, public school employees, and Muslims. The owner went on the community Facebook page and basically said that since he was the only restaurant of his type in town (and honestly one of the few non-fast food options available) that he wasn’t worried about losing customers and called people who were upset snowflakes, etc.

Not sure how big the payout is, but she's going to keep getting paid even if she's no longer employed there.
