There is no way for me to unpack all the things that have happened in the last few weeks in one post, so all I am going to say is that a lot of people are feeling very vulnerable and abandoned right now. I really hope we can have a conversation about what is going on, as I really like this site, it has been a big part of my life for since like 2003.

I mean, I don't really agree with the bans but he's got me on the mod sass thing. It's a rule.  Maybe a ban was kind of harsh but also $10 isn't that big of a deal. The Lastgirl one was definitely unsportsmanlike, though. We have a Gun Forum where people horde guns so I mean, c'mon man. Telling people to horde thermite (as a joke!) = ban?

the T&R thread was very specifically set up to let people vent and get a bunch of stuff sorted out, and it did exactly that, after weeks of turmoil and madness. Captain and LK spent a lot of time setting up the ground rules and listening, it's in the OP that "this is a thread for airing out complaints" is the primary purpose of the thread returning back to it to ban people for mod sass was of course going to cause issues, it was a thread created by mods specifically to have all of this out. I understand it's a longstanding rule, and we in CSPAM are no strangers to admins, mods, and IKs dispensing righteous justice, but sometimes a broader perspective is needed If you were going to crack down on sass of misbehavior why not one of the QCS threads that got invaded and led to the closing of that subforum? Why just the one filled with CSPAM posters only who were asked to let it all out? Yeah, ugly things were said, but ugly things being said is the basis of this entire thing

Like I have someone I love in my life who is trans and they have shared their fears with me and I was their for their transition. I was appalled by what happened in QCS and I'm glad steps have been taken, even if I don't think they're perfect. I don't think anything useful will be accomplished on an international drinking holiday (and I'm not saying Lowtax was drunk, as he earliest posted that he has not had a drink for six months) but I hope some of the bans will be reconsidered tomorrow.
