How do we have Namorita back? I'm guessing it's probably complicated.

Unfortunately, all this analysis is pointless. We know Peter Parker made a living selling photos to the newspaper less than 20 years ago, so the Marvel universe is obviously a whimsical fantasy land.

I think it was some time travel thing involving the Sphinx. Then they ignored she was back because some editor didn't like it. But now they're ignoring that they ignored her! Also, I like that Cap was defrosted during the Obama years. I bet one of the first things he said was "Thanks, Obama."

Maybe Fox News viewers secretly live in the Marvel Universe, where all of those real world things also happened under the decades-long reign of Barack Hussein Obamacare.

You know, speaking of the whole sliding timescale thing, i wound up reading Spider-Man: The Darkest Hours by Jim Butcher and it's actually a pretty great little snapshot of the JMS status quo, where he's sort of buddies with Strange but still standoffish with the rest of the superhero community. It's definitely a better take on Morlun and his family than The Other or Spider-Verse.

Don't joke about genocide being good. Yeah in this case it's made-up green alien guys, but to put it lightly genocide loving... sucks...? And it's easier to just not make jokes about it anymore than it is to have to parse every single one of those jokes for intent and prior history of crumminess.

He won an Eisner for a not especially good OGN about the Green River Killer in 2012, and wrote little bits and this and that over the years, including a stint on Team Titans post-Wolfman. It looks like he mostly does screenplays now-- Tomorrowland and he was on the writing staff for the Watchmen show.

I do think it's kind of interesting the evolution of the concept of what an "X-Factor" book has undergone over the decades, I guess a commonality has been some sort of "public" team, whether it was the 05 pretending to be a Mutant Hunting Service, or the Peter David mk1 "Officially Sanctioned Government Team" or this weird Mutant Police Department mini-series or the early PAD Private Investigation pitch before it turned into a book all about people having magic babies and fighting for control of Hell and time travel loops. Compared to all of the X-Forces over the decades or even more simply every version of New Mutants/Generations X the common thread between all of the X-Factors is probably the weakest but I never realized that it is still kind of there.
