I always assumed it was just the name of the van that the police used (like it was an Austin Maria or something), especially as in old TV shows and films it always seems to be the same model of van, e.g. as in Withnail and I: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ7SzAm92e4 although this one's blue, and probably the other ones are too but they were in black and white. Anyway I learned something in the Freep thread that wasn't utter contempt, so that's a plus, although I'm now intrigued as to how that particular bit of slang made it over to the UK, which is generally self-sufficient in such things.

[/quote] It was a common term for police vans in the 1930s. You see it in old gangster movies sometimes. I suspect that’s how it made it over to the U.K., we inflict all of our movies on you

Whenever he goes off on one of his musings about how they're all under assault and everyone is out to get them he brings up the bikers. I heard an interview with a couple of the Bikers for Trump people a while back on NPR and they're exactly what you'd expect, 50-70 year old weekend motorcycle riders that LARP as Republican Hell's Angels. Either retirees or office workers with enough cash to drive to events not close to them. They tell stories about how they've stepped in to protect the police from Antifa and other absolutely true things that totally happened.

All the servers are in a warehouse in Poland, operated by Deep State officials. Lowtax is also there, in a freezer. He is brought out sometimes to sow discontent.

I think a lot of what that whining which they do is still centered in the knowledge that they still have a fair amount of power seated in the Republican Party, even if it isn't being wielded in a way that they would like. What I am talking about is something along the lines of Dems taking House, Senate, Presidency and then rewriting the rules to dump the Electoral College, putting Trump up on treason charges, and using that to essentially vacate any and all judgeship positions he granted during his term. Something huge which would essentially be a death knell to conservative rule across the US.

I just hope he takes the lessons learned in the last few years and, on day one, suspends all aid to Israel, declares a climate emergency, and redirects all of that aid money, all the wall money, and a couple hundred million from the Pentagon into various climate change initiatives.
