That goal was a tap in, and he got sent off in the match for getting a second yellow card for diving.

Although technically I thought he scored twice in that match because another Inter player took a shot and it flicked off of Alexis's shoulder and it went in.

*looks at squad* because he's the only recognisable adult in the team capable of standing up right now. There's nothing wrong with having players like Matic in and around the squad for experience and to help the younger players. The problem isn't that he's there, it's that he's having to be a nailed on starter right now.

Notably not an out-an-out striker but he can play up front. Normally he's more of a winger, so basically another player of the Son/Lucas type.

It is not the United Way to simply bend over to the pricing demands of the selling club whomst have the player we publicly and desperately need, we first show strength that we will not be held to ransom via our giant coffers, instead pointlessly and publicly haggle for an entire window before paying that precise price plus huge wages and agent fees anyway all agreed previously in attempts to strong arm selling club into lowering their fee.

It is very big galaxy brained business strategy that we plebs just don't understand. It's incredibly dumb to think Ed should just get the transfer done and use his actual skills to flog some United badged bog roll to cover the United Tax.

That's weird though because reports also saying Arsenal agreed a fee for that Shaktar defender. I wouldn't have expected both.

Ornstein said yesterday that there was no fee agreed and it wasn't going to happen because Shaktar didn't want to sell this window. I know there's a contingent of Arsenal fans who think he's full of poo poo now but I tend to still believe him when he reports something.

Because Arsenal fans are idiots who have no understanding of how journalism works and think moving from the BBC to The Athletic means Ornstein has to scrap all his sources and start from scratch. Really he just got promoted into a role that's far more broad than "guy who breaks Arsenal stories" so he does less Arsenal-specific work.

I suppose. I'd still like to see him replaced with a player who isn't an active hindrance when he plays, but I guess at this point it's more realistic to keep anyone who is physically capable of playing football.

I forget who it was but someone was saying they want Soares to provide cover at RB so AMN can "replace" Ceballos. I guess that makes sense? I think AMN has been doing pretty well this season and I would be perfectly fine with him at RB long-term but he's made it pretty clear he doesn't want that.

Everton have turned down an offer of €100m (£85m) from Barcelona for Brazilian striker Richarlison.

Everton rejected the offer immediately, unwilling to sell one of their prized assets as they look to strengthen their squad - rather than deplete it.

Richarlison is a long-standing target of Barca's sporting director Eric Abidal, who enquired about the 22-year-old's availability last summer but saw those advances knocked back.

This sounds completely true and not at all made up.
