The WHO is part of the UN, and much like the UN in general it mostly nags countries and gets ignored I'm sure they have some resources that will come in handy and this declaration will be a slight net positive, but it's not really that significant

The Navajo objected to calling it "Muerto Canyon hantavirus" and locals objected to calling it 'Four Corners virus', but then virologists couldn't figure out a name so it just became "No Name" in Spanish

I wonder how many people die of regular seasonal flu in Wuhan this time of year - if that number was counted up like the deaths from NuFlu it would probably ease some fears a bit. Flu is nasty poo poo, but is this flu actually nastier than normal once you strip away the hype and rolling news coverage?
