Another big thing is that the Left and liberals aren't really aligned in America. The Right is wiling to lockstep lie and cheat and manipulate and do whatever to win, while everyone else that cares is either just ducking and surviving or are fighting between taking the "high road" and decorum and not stooping to their level or not. Even as an example, the old SA would raid Stormfront or DDOS (stuff that's obviously banned now for reasons) or come up with tactics to make smaller extreme right movements die, while you don't see much of anything now that it skews older and there is less old west and there are more consequences and stuff.

The founding American protest was a hissy fit about taxes and throwing some tea into a harbor. That should tell you something. American protests are all really small and don't last. This isn't France.

Even scumbag shithead presidents were held somewhat in check and expected to comply with oversight.

Yeah I think it's going to take a while for people to actually start revolting, but I don't understand how the genie can be put back into the bottle. The President can do whatever he wants, and that's very bad for everyone. I think there's an even better chance he "wins" the election now, through even more blatant cheating and rat loving.

Why wouldn't they?

Hillary Rodham loving Clinton, an incredibly unpopular rear end in a top hat who was also unfairly the target of a vicious 25yr smear campaign, beat Trump by 3M votes and still lost the office.

Then maybe get bloomberg to put his money into supporting candidates in the swing states. Flood him with that instead of bemoaning the situation. You have to understand popular vote means jack and poo poo until we can get rid of the electoral college.

Their supress and cheat strategy is hampered by all the governorships they've lost. They have none of the Great Lakes except Ohio, and lost Virginia completely.

Ohio is going to be subject to the same demographic shift as VA and NC. The cities are attracting young people while the rural areas are dying off. Ohio just doesn't have the favorable weather to have it happen as soon.

Florida though, they get everyone else's old people.

People keep talking about voter suppression but I think you should all be ready for some straight up intimidation and vote tampering. The GOP is obviously desperate and there were so many sketchy instances the last two elections of poo poo like election machines not working properly, the mysterious server wipe in Georgia, questionable handling and counting of provisional ballots, and so on. Like I get people want to think, "They surely can't get away with this forever!" and "The rules will stop them" and "They don't have the numbers" etc and there is some truth to all that but they just successfully argued that basically any rule other than Republican is illegitimate, and political office in this country is all about who can lie and cheat it out better.

I'm not telling people to back down but instead to be ready because this was an obvious green light to the Right as a whole, and if they're smart they'll make bolder moves to further undermine democracy and stay in power.
