I'm aware that I'm getting into  territory here but Radio 4 has had, for the last two bulletins, a story about a record number of antisemitism incidents in the UK followed by a story about someone driving a car into a queue of mostly IDF soldiers outside a nightclub in Jerusalem. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Beeb doesn't normally report on terrorist incidents - even ones resulting in deaths - in Israel, does it? Why is this story deserving of fourth or fifth slot in the headlines? And right next to a story about antisemitism?

The only sensible way to decide on military action is for a small secretive group whose composition and minutes are not subject to public scrutiny, but almost certainly includes an unelected spiritual leader and her adult ephebophile sons, to review the secret intelligence data from several organizations that routinely break the law but face no consequences, then for 650 landlords, most of whom weren't involved in the discussion, to vote on it

That body at least has the excuse that it's democratically elected by the public, so it needs to consider them when making a decision. That doesn't mean that it is directly answerable to members while elected, putting that much power in the hands of members would be absurd.
