thats what hololive is, they probably get the biggest chunk of it because they're the ones that actually own the characters and do all the art and tech stuff

I am jealous cause it looks like the developer gave them an advance copy of the English release. None of the versions released in Japan, other Asian countries, have english that i'm aware of.

Pretty much every third-person action game made between 2012-2017 had some kind of "press button to highlight stuff in the environment" function. I think developers have mostly gotten better about this as time has gone on.

Even Persona 5 had it. Honestly I would take detective vision over the "open world sonar" seen in games like No Man's Sky or Death Stranding. If given a choice let me toggle that poo poo.

we got sidetracked for a long time but, in preparation for Sonic Day 2020, my gf and i have continued our trek through the series and are now up to Sonic Adventure. thoughts so far:
-why is there so much shredding guitar now
-why is Sonic running around a normal human city
-why is his face (and no one else's) so wiggly and overexpressive during cutscenes
-the more photorealistic environments are way less fun than the colorful spritework in the genesis levels
-did people like this when it came out?
-why isn't there a mobile chao garden game

I remember Sonic Adventure being kind of divisive when it came out but I liked it, at least enough to finish the game. I think people were down with the Sonic levels but really didn't like the Big the Cat and Knuckles segments.

I believe in a universe that doesn't care, and people that do.

People were way too generous to those games when they came out because it was 3D sonic with a STORY, and he goes SUPER SAIYAN, but they're really bad. They don't hold up, and replaying them if you have fond memories of them will make you realize you manufactured those memories. There's really nothing good in those games except for the soundtrack, especially 2's (minus the knuckles raps which are incredibly phoned in).

That's why the backlash against Sonic Heroes didn't make sense to me. It was just more of the same, but apparently people's expectations were based on their false memories of SA, not the actual games.

That is not, nor has it ever been, a defining quality of PC gamery. If anything, as a PC Gamer, you should point to your wealth of potential controllers, joysticks, and that thing you plug into your butt for rumble.

What kind of PC Gamer don't have they own controller? A shameful PC Gamer.

I like Sonic Mania and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Both are very fun and the second has the bonus of being fully playable in split screen even in career mode, so I can try to unlock stuff while my son aimlessly drives the wrong way and falls off cliffs :v:

Other games, where Sonic talks, are strange and unusual and I don't very much care for them

also I have a feeling I may have made this exact post previously in one of these threads

It may not be a defining quality now, but it sure was back in the DOS days, when we had to calibrate joysticks with every game because back then PCs' joystick interface was a piece of poo poo, as were most compatible sticks, and then the calibration would drift off as you played. Some joysticks even had knobs you could fiddle with to try and recenter your calibration mid-play, which worked just about as well as you'd expect.

sonic goes super saiyan in sonic 2 tho... heck he goes super saiyan 2 in sonic 3 and knuckles

this game has a dumpster fire of a camera surprising nobody but it's still fun. we're just on sonic's story so far though

what's weird is going from open your heart blasting on the title screen to like, windy valley or twinkle park. a lot of these levels still kinda have the feel of the cute genesis stuff so the plot just gets that much more jarring

My main complaint about Cook Serve Delicious 3 is that there are comedic historical descriptions for a bunch of the dishes and I almost would rather read real ones to learn more about them

Sonic Mania is extremely good. The first Sonic Advance is also quite fun, not quite up to S3&K quality but a very good 2D sonic that manages to incorporate the then-current character designs and abilities without feeling like too much of a departure gameplay-wise. Sonic Advance 2 and 3 have serious issues, though.

Pretty much every other Sonic game after the Genesis is a mixed bag at best, including Sonic CD.
