At the very least it’s going to be nice to have a labour leader who looks normal for once (I know I’m being facetious some people do just vote on looks alone)

That's Starmer, easily, he's gonna get a much easier ride in the press owing to the fact that he's not even slightly left wing, has promised to lock the left wing out of power, isn't a woman, and Johnson is Bad For Business so there's good incentive to support someone else, just as long as they're not left wing & won't allow the left anywhere near power. Yeah I don't think anyone will win. Kier is the only one with a chance though. I do get the slight vibe from my fellow corbnists that all our friends just died charging into machine gunfire so now if we don't keep charging into machine gunfire then it was a waste Jel Shaker posted:At the very least it’s going to be nice to have a labour leader who looks normal for once Sadly we aren't getting Nandy who wins on that front imo

If none of them can win an election then the best option is to vote for whoever will best improve the party over the next 4 and a bit years. That's not Keir.

It's this, more than anything else. I don't think anyone can win the next election unless something catastrophic happens to the Tories and the media establishment over then next 4 years, so I want a candidate who gets us open selections and a continued loud(-as-possible) left, than someone who looks electable to the establishment but is going to do neither of those things.

Did we improve the party over the last 5 years? We moved the Overton window but the only bit of progress I can think of is the easier leadership voting and that was milibands lot not us. Whats RLB gonna do? Open selections and pray that's the silver bullet this time? If we could trust Kier he'd be an OK choice for party stewardship, a caretaker who doesn't just look like another corbyn who sorta tacks between Corbyn and the plp and steadies the ship while we all get over our trauma and figure out what to do next. That's pretty much the platform he's running on and it's a decent one. Problem is you can never trust the progress ghouls.

Got my ballot, did RLB/Nandy and Burgon/Butler/Rayner. Very much pinched-nose at putting Nandy second-pref to try and fend off a second-round win for Starmer, but have a horrible feeling he's got the numbers for a first-round win. I'm still not 100% about Rayner - the way she ran up the numbers on PLP noms to the point that Butler struggled to get on the ballot (and the fact she *could* run up the numbers amongst that bunch of loving melts) worries me even more than Butler's alleged Damascene conversion. Still think that Burgon looks like an overinflated Sam Allardyce sex doll but he undoubtedly has the right ideas.

Lots of tabby cats have that, there's folk tales saying that it originated when Mohammed stroked his pet cat Muezza, or that a tabby comforted Mary, or just that they're magic. African wildcats have it too, so it's probably none of those.

Harlequin Ladybirds and Rabbits share this weird but interesting thing that they could not survive in our climate until some event which we don't quite know happened and suddenly they could. We had rabbit for 1700 years being very carefully tended to and cared for then suddenly rabbits everywhere.
