Not everyone assigns individual rights based on their perception of that individual. People even take oaths to uphold and protect these rights, regardless of who they are exercised by.

Looks like the US is taking its lead from Iran WRT Covid-19.

1) Problem? What problem?
2) It's a hoax to make us weak
3) Give religious fundamentalists authority to determine the response to epidemiological threats

The New Yorker posted:

...
1) Iran’s deputy health minister, Iraj Harirchi, was pale and drenched in sweat during a press conference on Monday as he told reporters that the Islamic Republic had “almost stabilized” the country’s outbreak of coronavirus. He mopped his brow so often that an aide scurried to the lectern with a box of tissues. Harirchi dismissed as hype an Iranian lawmaker’s claim that fifty people had already died from COVID-19. “I will resign if the numbers are even half or a quarter of this,” he said, adding that Iran had only sixty-one confirmed cases, with twelve deaths. Iran opposed quarantines, he said, because they belonged to an era before the First World War—“to the plague, cholera, stuff like that.” The next day, Harirchi confirmed in a video—from quarantine—that he had contracted coronavirus.
...
2) After the election, the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, accused Iran’s enemies of exaggerating the threat of coronavirus to scare voters away from the polls. “This negative propaganda about the virus began a couple of months ago and grew larger ahead of the election,” he said. “Their media did not miss the tiniest opportunity for dissuading Iranian voters and resorting to the excuse of disease and the virus.”
...
3) Instead of closing down public sites, a measure that public-health experts have taken in other countries, the head of the shrine in Qom called on pilgrims to keep coming. “We consider this holy shrine to be a place of healing. That means people should come here to heal from spiritual and physical diseases,” Mohammad Saeedi, who is also the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in Qom, said in a video. Cases traced back to Iran have been reported in Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Canada, Georgia, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. Many of these cases have been linked specifically to visits to Qom.

It's hard to say since they're not even exactly sure how long it incubates (current estimate is 10 days with the infectious period being a few days prior to the onset of symptoms).

Then its a couple weeks recovery.

Citing the strength of his experience on foreign policy, Illinois U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden on Monday morning.

The announcement is the latest in a series of endorsements that has the Democratic establishment in Illinois lining up squarely behind Biden ahead of a primary that is a little more than two weeks away.

Duckworth’s backing came just hours after former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a fellow veteran, bowed out of the race. She also decided to weigh in on the race amid calls for the party’s moderates to unify around Biden in a bid to stop Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders from accumulating an insurmountable delegate lead in the presidential race.

Hoover was a smart guy and understood it was a problem, and tried to address the worsening Depression in some ways, but was ideologically opposed to direct government intervention into the economy. An excellent manager for specific tasks (Such as organizing relief for Belgium during and after World War I, for which he was famous), but absolutely the wrong leader for the country at that time.

Trump, meanwhile, is just a loving idiot.

Timeline based on ones that have been made before.

It's not like flu where you have a lurking population of different H and N genes out there that shuffle around in antigenic shift between strains. So far its what we call antigenic drift which follows with regular viral intrinsic mutation as it gets copied.

Totally unknown right now that this would be enough to necessitate multiple vaccine types. This would be unlike other coronavirus if it did in fact do that.

Wealthy couples who aren’t used to actually spending time together are in for trouble, according to Mitchell Moss, who studies urban policy and planning at New York University.

“This is going to destroy the marriages of the rich,” said Moss. “All these husbands and wives who travel will now have to spend time with the person they’re married to.”

Is this actually a thing where rich people actually hate each other and just marry off to each other for status' sake. That seems hilarious.
