On a lot of of them it is a lever that looks just like any other parking brake. This is true for tracked personnel carriers as well.

This happened to a friend of mine. The Derrickhand on the opposite shift had left the hatch open. He said he could send me pictures of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns. I don't think that is necessary. He's doing alright, back home with his family and also on the morphine. It will be a few months recovery, with possible skin grafts. I talked to my Derrickhands about this, even though it's always brought up in the fall when the boiler comes out.

Also, I know rig hands aren't qualified visual weld inspectors, but somebody should have seen something.

Most slant rigs are good to pull 130kdan straight up and down, 75ish on a 45 degree slant (80 or 90% iirc). This one might not have been good for quite that much.

Yes! Copy this script into your preferred browser scripting addon. If it automatically adds [ url ] tags around the urls then you need to delete them. I use Violentmonkey, Greasemonkey apparently has vulnerabilities that make it unsafe to use.

You can change the max height in the last line to whatever suits you, I find 650 pixels works well on a 1920*1200 screen.

This script was originally created by forums user Elysiume.

Unfortunately, that script is specifically for webm and doesn't seem to touch gifv or mp4 videos. I don't know enough about scripting to modify it to include them.

Not true at all. I just tested it with the sarlacc pit video up the page and could change it from a postage stamp size to covering most of the page, and that's a gifv

Speaking of did anybody save that one video I posted in the last thread of a tractor being tipped back over and then rolling away and ending up in a pit? I think it was in India or someplace in there region and the title was "tractor suicide" or something to that effect. It doesn't appear to be on youtube any more.

I don't know what the difference is, but the version I have is a little simpler, change the max-height if it's too big (edit: SA keeps adding url tags, you'll need to delete those)

code:
// ==UserScript==
// @name               smaller videos
// @namespace          [url]https://forums.somethingawful.com/[/url]

// @include            [url]https://forums.somethingawful.com/*[/url]
// @grant              GM_addStyle
// ==/UserScript==

GM_addStyle("video { max-height: 800px; } ");

    $("video").attr("controls", "controls");
}, false);

Chrome on Win10. I checked the file types, the sarlacc is a gifv and the one under it (another day in LA) is an MP4. This is a comparison between 600px and 110px max height, zoomed all the way out to get all of it in one screengrab.

Firefox has stuff that automatically stops scripts from running, but I don't know how to fix that.

It shouldn’t have, the script looks for text/link targets that end with “.webm”.

If they are too big I will right-click on them and select "fullscreen," which ironically makes them fit within a single window.

Silly goose, you're here forever.

Don't use that big complicated one, use this one.

code:

// ==UserScript==
// @name shorter videos
// @namespace [url]https://forums.somethingawful.com/[/url]
// @description asdf
// @include [url]https://forums.somethingawful.com/*[/url]
// @grant GM_addStyle
// ==/UserScript==

GM_addStyle("video { max-height: 600px; max-width: 800px; } ");

window.addEventListener("load", function() {
$("video").attr("controls", "controls");
}, false);

e:f,b but mine also limits width as well as height

Edit edit: Also remove those drat url tags
