ASK ME ABOUT MY SHITTY, BOUGIE INTERIOR DECORATING ADVICE
My rule of thumb is that if the description for a residential space includes the word ‘industrial’ you should run away very fast.

Oh hahaha, yeah the perspective is way wrong too. Awesome. Realtors are so freaking dumb.

I worked in the marketing department of a local Prudential Real Estate firm with 100 or so Realtors and they would ask us to Photoshop poo poo out of photos all the time. We'd have to tell them lol no we can get sued.

anyone know where to get moving insurance? I just want something that covers the replacement value of furniture damaged during a move?

most places I've seen just do it by weight and that's not sufficient. my existing policy doesn't have anything for moving either

Most movers offer it.

That's "released value protection". You want "full value protection". If they don't offer it you may be able to get a binder from another insurance company. It's usually about 1% of what you are insuring. I've used freightcenter.com for shipments, but I don't think they offer moving insurance. I'm sure there's somewhere similar that will take your request and give you quotes/write a binder with someone.

Some things won't be covered if you are using general movers (like trying to move a piano or a large safe - you need specialists for that)

Maybe I'm missing the joke, but it's the same family. The Sackler's are way into funding art and museums with their blood money. As I said

It's gorgeous. I love the furnishings as well.

could some of those floors be any glossier jfc I'm going blind

speaking of floors, this is the flooring I ended up choosing, it's an oak laminate, 12 mm thick with good water protection (I have a dog). It was only like 1.90/sq foot but it's still about 5k for all the materials and labor. Everything carpeted will now be laminate, the kitchen and bathroom will stay tile but I might get one of those Chilewich mats for the kitchen.

Oh yes and I need rugs now. I ordered one giant 9x11 high pile rug from Ikea, one small circular low-pile one for my dog, and a white faux sheepskin for my bedroom.

A) impossible to tell without more data

Can you appreciate how incredibly vague that is? Some of the many factors to even start to figure out a range:
- Size
- Fixtures
- Materials
- Location

$20k is probably rock bottom or a small bathroom depending on your definition of 'nice'.

I meant it in the sense "I think it's the fireplace that merits the use of the word 'ornate' in a house that mostly looks like a drab office."
