my point in all of this is that if you are getting your political enjoyment from the suffering of others, that is inherently debasing and counter to what our values are as socialists. this is not the same thing as me "defending chud lives" or being unable to see the irony of people being hoisted by their own petard, or being squeamish or any of that. a pure hatred of the ruling class does not require a dehumanization of myself. the path forward is one that we need to take clear eyed and be realistic about, but suffering is a necessary byproduct of transformative change, not the goal.
