The resources are here but there is no way to mobilize them.

Its a great situation that shows the UK government handling this even better than the USA in the cold calculating carelessness. i think your not far wrong.. For what its worth, back in december 2018, I had something very similar to the current thing. started with dry coughs, got a fever, ended up in bed for about 3 weeks with trouble breathing. It took about 6 months before I could walk properly without feeling out of breath. I'm fine now. I think it's been around for a bit longer than we realise & hopefully I'm one immune motherfucker

I mean, to be honest, there was absolutely no way this wasn't going to happen at some point. Even if they were just taking car accidents and other non-COVID emergency patients to the hospital ships they were bound to get infected asymptomatic spreaders and victims who simply didn't know they were positive yet. The idea was ridiculous from the start. TRUMP.

We're gonna get a bunch of extra people killed just because she's digging her heals in on this. And it's doubly stupid because according to the info out there Iowa is actually sitting pretty good on number of hospital beds and ventilators as long as people take things seriously and flatten the curve.

This is a solved problem already, after Katrina the national guard and navy? set up distribution centers, pallets everywhere full of food and water, you drive through and the troops load your car up with whatever you ask for. You can process two cars a minute if you yell at people. Set up five in every suburb. Status update from Colorado

If it's literally up to the states then the amendment was mostly useless Even seemingly well run blue states like IL aren't giving out the 600/week yet, and the eligibility distinction for quitting if you're asthmatic and a grocery bagger is gonna be even more of a hurdle

My sister-in-law's parents went to their cabin in northern Wisconsin, and the area has experienced a similar influx of people from the Twin Cities and Chicago. Of course, this not being the summer, the area wasn't prepared at all for everyone, THe local grocery stores are cleaned out and it is going to be a while until they are restocked to any capacity. And if anyone brought the disease out there with them, I don't see the area hospitals being able to handle much strain.
