Does a bear split in the woods near Zheleznogorsk?

Wingnut Ninja posted:

Eh, those are such different things that I'm not even sure what point they're trying to make. Two days after a collision they're still trying to get the ship in to port and figure out what the hell happened.

If one of the COs had emailed the SECDEF and a newspaper saying "hey I'm gonna go ram a cargo ship" I guarantee they would have been axed a lot sooner.

Two days is how long it would take the route the loving paperwork.

The point is that they didn't even bother to give a second thought to removing a guy who shined the spotlight on their bullshit for all to see.

Is it your spine itself or the muscles around it? I've had problems with my back muscles from supporting plates.

I was more referring to the azithromycin included in the study. I’m fairly certain most of us here have experience with some flavor of chloroquine, and none of it fun or good.

Azithromycin has some anti-inflammatory effects on airways in addition to its usefulness as an antibiotic. Meaning that while the chloroquine was working on the virus, it suppressed the immune response in the lungs, reducing respiratory distress. At least that's the gist I got from my MD/PhD dad and reading some pharm studies.

Yeah that was pretty much my understanding. It doesn’t fight the virus directly but it helps limit the severity of the symptoms. It’s not a vaccine or magic bullet but it is possibly a viable treatment.

Historically there have been quite a few diseases that, if you can treat the symptoms enough to keep the patient alive, they'll recover.

I forgot to mention, azithromycin is used for its respiratory anti inflammatory effect in COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, aka what happens to the lungs of long term smokers) so this isn't actually a wild shot in the dark.

I have jacked up discs and bone spurs, along with traumatic onset Arthritis in various spots (L, T, and C Spine areas) but what I was referring to is a pain that exists starting about half way down my scapula, and going 6-8 inches below. Every doctor told me that it's in my head, because it's "virtually impossible to hurt that part of your spine without damaging the rest of your spine much worse".

So yeah, the only part on me that works as intended are my elbows.

The DoD is keeping infected totals in the military a secret now. A couple weeks ago ft Lewis told us they had 11 confirmed cases but stopped giving updates, probably as a result of the DoD order. You won't hear about cases now unless it's incredibly low, like ft Campbell only having one case.

As a result, he was probably canned for "posing a national security risk" and knew he was gonna get fired over it, which I'm glad he did for the good of his ship.
