Also a big thing that stops anybody from learning mainframe stuff is that you need, well, a mainframe. Not like learning how to do anything else where you can just download the stack and be off and running

Also the OS is completely different about things like resource sharing, logging, configuring things, etc Hey man, when I say zero programming experience, I mean don't start throwing acronyms at me.
