Imagine bragging that you don't know what chicken tikka is.

What I see here is a list of good food normal people usually need a restaurant to prepare because they can't do it themselves. I have made real crab rangoon before and it is a fun and simple process right up to the part were I had to fry it. Also outside of an indian family who the hell has the spices on hand to make a decent loving indian dish during a lockdown.

gently caress if you have never had tikka masala you are missing out in a big way. The best thing about this modern era is so many great food dishes from across the world are were accessible.

Yeah but imagine this with mandatory social distancing rules keeping everyone 6 feet part, and no crowd whatsoever surrounding the funeral procession because everyone will be locked inside their houses

Hee hee hee. I work at a grocery store in Washington. The store snapped up the new labor freed up by the layoffs and now everyone's getting 14-20 hours per week, if that. We're told "the store is losing money" so that's why hours are down.

I'm employed, and won't make May's rent. I'm already behind on all my other bills. I can't quit because I won't get unemployment. I'm looking for a new job / side gig during a pandemic, where jobs are way down and job-seekers are way up. The alleged Trumpbux are a drop in the bucket as everyone knows, assuming they ever actually show up at all.

The actual best economic move right now for me... would be to catch Coronavirus. You see, the store is offering "two weeks of overtime pay" to anyone who gets sick. Assuming they're basing that on 40 hour weeks (and not two 14 hour weeks as I imagine lol), that'd give me a shot at surviving another month. And I'm a fat asthmatic so there's a good chance covid would kill me, which is also an upside.

Just sitting here giggling at the fact that diving in front of a cough is my best bet at making it through another month.

Just googled a Recipe.

quote:

Ingredients

for 5 servings

Chicken Marinade

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
½ cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced ginger
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons garam masala
2 teaspoons paprika

Sauce

3 tablespoons oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons minced ginger
8 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons ground turmeric
2 teaspoons ground coriander
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons garam masala
1 tablespoon tomato puree
3 ½ cups tomato sauce
1 ¼ cups water
1 cup heavy cream
¼ cup fresh cilantro, for garnish
cooked rice, for serving
naan bread, for serving
I got the Salt, Onion, Oil, Rice and Water on hand. I keep a super special Ms Dash and Garlic Powder and Herb spice as my go to everything cooking. Once I had a whole shaker of taco seasoning and thought it was a luxury. Before I google it myself I don't know what garam masala is.

Edit: After Google. a hot spice mixture, usually of ground coriander, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and pepper, used in Indian cooking. Now I need to know what cardamom is.
