I'm eating my lentil and beans in various dishes with my rice, I made a big batch of rice up and chucked it in the fridge, and a batch each of Mexican beans and lentil and sweet potato curry and they're my work lunches so it stops me spending ages on lunch and keeps me in a habit

I’ve used lentils to stretch out a bolognese I made for a lasagna. Also had milk powder (bought before pandemic) that I used for the bechamel. Revving up to work from home soon so will be making bean/lentil/veg soup for lunches. Haven’t really gone overboard except I’ve now got tinned and frozen fruit where I usually don’t, and more frozen veg than I usually do. Shitload of rice though, but we eat it.

Most Coles and Woolies are out of eggs, noodles, good fruit, but asiamarts and greengrocers still have fresh veg, canned goods etc. Must be the alternative suppliers and logistics

Transplanted my perpetual spinach into a pot. Hope it survives. Finally emptied the dirt out of the container which used to contain my rosemary, so I can put that in the bin tonight. It's not real gardening but it will have to do until I can get my hands dirty again. Really want to start knitting some slippers and socks but knitting sets off the neuropathy in my fingers. It's annoying as gently caress not being able to do the things I actually want to do.

A lot of crops/land got affected by either the fire or the smoke so they've had to be a lot less picky with what makes it on to the shelves. e: of course the panic shopping probably doesn't help.

Hey McSpergin, what's your Aeropress method? I make cold brew with mine (one scoop, upside down in fridge overnight, press it in the AM). When I do it hot I can never get it strong enough and feel like I'm loving up. I can just do Turkish if I want strong, but I've yet to experience decently strong Aeropress and want to give it a crack. Solid AusGBS Corona Spotify playlist, BTW.

I grind a heaped scoop on medium-fine, wet the beans and rest for a few minutes, then add the rest of the water and stir, and let it brew for a few more minutes.

It's always fun trying to work out what to cook for dinner during the part of my chemo cycle where my sense of taste and texture is hosed up. Chow mein mince was a good choice and also used up some of the hoard.
