charity rereg posted:in general i have found that most people's idea of quarantine/social distancing just kind of blanks over & exempts the numerous times they regularly break quarantine. I've noticed this too. I go to work half of the time now, and in general attempt to make a single supply run each week. One of the families in my hallway seem to always be going somewhere or having people over, and there are always loving kids playing on the stairs. The people at work aren't much better, it seems like a lot of them are out having get togethers, but they're at someone's home because everywhere else is closed. I saw a bunch of PPE right after Ohio shut everything down, but last week I saw nothing but a few gloves and some guy that was slathering on disinfectant before entering a store.

Lawman 0 posted:Finishing up revolutions podcast and my takeaway is basically "lol at soft American leftists not taking a chance when it's handed to them" The trick this day in age is convincing normies why socialism is the answer in 144 characters or less or image form, such that the impression can weather several hours of MSNBC or FOX, because today's unique combination of media saturation, police monitoring, and ease of finding routes for escapism make it hard to use classical tools such as speeches, books, manifestos and what have you. Either that or pull them out of normie media and into some sort of commie-chan or otherwise dark corner of the internet to radicalize them with a constant stream of guillotine memes. Even then, unless they or their families are on the street and dying, it's going to be hard to coax any action out of them: turns out comfortable people don't want to risk losing what they have, even if society as a whole gains.

UVB radiation from sunlight takes several hours to disinfect from this virus. You're talking about a period of days, even if you have high UV levels.

charity rereg posted:this is actually a myth that was pushed by republicans I stand corrected (though that article really meanders lol), my own country's CDC equivalent has claimed that long exposed surfaces are less likely to harbor the virus. Then again my country's government has claimed a lot of things recently, including that elections will be safe lol Still, the impact of vit D and general sun exposure is something to consider. Penisaurus Sex posted:what? Yeah, this is what I've been referring to. The point is not to disinfect yourself, but that the surfaces might be safer during the day than during the night. My 91 year old grandma just got taken to a hospital near Chicago with roni symptoms. Her daughter has been staying with her and taking care of her for the last 2 months. The daughter has been fighting cabin fever by going out when my grandma was sleeping even thought they've had people dropping off groceries and everything else. loving boomers lmao.

https://twitter.com/lib_crusher/status/1247521523864305664?s=20 At least the number of deaths attributed to heart attacks is down. I was really worried about catching a heart attack from someone contagious and having my body thrown into the back of a refrigerated truck, which our hospitals have at the end of every flu season.
