As far as China, it is actually logical their death rate is relatively low considering they also vaccine for TB. It is the countries who don't (i.e the US/Italy/Netherlands/UK) that are completely hosed. Also, it looks like both the daily case rate and the death rate today is going to break the University of Washington's model and we really haven't been curving at all. Recent optimistism on faulty data and poor/incompetent statistical work.
