While other countries are going to go through a correction where they spike in cases and deaths because they hosed it up early (UK, Sweden, etc.) they'll probably put in place effective policies and practices eventually. The US is basically going to have this spread out for much much longer as there are flare-ups of COVID-19 across the country for a long time to come because you have that critical mass of people who are actively inimical towards science, logic, and their fellow human beings.
