lol we had 2 weeks of legitimate panic where trump started caving to every socialist idea under the sun and after the sky didn't fall instantaneously everyone went back to giving everyone's money to mega corporations and telling every working person in america to gently caress off

like if it was a giant asteroid they would send a ship with nukes halfway and then decide it was all a hoax and bring the ship back two weeks before the asteroid was scheduled to hit

Women are wonderful animals, they should be making music and writing novels about having a complex relationship with your mother.
Brent Underwood learned a tough lesson: Don’t spend millions on a ghost town in which you wouldn’t want to self-isolate.

The 32-year-old marketer took sheltering in place to the next level when he became trapped in a California ghost town he recently purchased. The problem is: There’s no running water and a snowstorm has him trapped.

Plus, it may be haunted.

So for timelines, the exposure to death timeline seems to be what? 10-14 days? Or is that ICU and death follows a week after? Apologies if it’s already been covered, just trying to guess at spike times.

It's two to eight weeks from first reported symptoms to death. Some people take a loving LONG time to die on the vents with this disease.

Average is around 3 weeks.

It takes 3-14 days to go from infection to feeling symptoms, so you're looking at a 3 week to 9 week exposure to death timeline.

We've known this since late January and its what originally freaked me (and every health expert) on the planet out so much.

i really understand none of that other than the study was seriously flawed.
The general idea is pretty simple.

If you randomly test people and the test doesn't have false positives then you can draw conclusions about the percentage of the population that has the roni. Additionally, if do this with an antibody test (since it takes a little bit of time to develop antibodies unlike the normal tests) and the people haven't had any symptoms, you can draw conclusions about the percentage of the population that was asymptomatic.

On the other hand, if like this study you're 1) using a test that has a non-negligible rate of false positives and 2) rather than picking people randomly, you recruit people off facebook without doing anything to deal with the fact that the people who are going to want to be tested are people who think they have already had the roni, you really can't draw any useful conclusions.

The first problem might be able to explain the result in itself (lol) but the second problem really makes the whole thing meaningless anyway.

Something like 80% of people are still in favor of quarantine measures even though they hate quarantine, the other 20% are billionaires and economists. It's gonna be years before things are "normal" again socially, at the very least I hope this makes mask wearing more common here

Yeah it's gonna kick rear end when we open everything back up, nobody goes anywhere, and the chud politicians start begging for people to spend money while all their small business donors start going bankrupt from operating costs
