So is this blood coagulating in your toes?

According to the limited sources I've googled, either coagulation in the extremities, or inflammation caused by infection.

It definitely felt like inflammation. Last week I honestly thought I'd gotten a chemical burn on my feet somehow. Not to be dramatic, but it was "gaslighting" me. I couldn't figure out how or what had given me a chemical burn, I knew it wasn't poison ivy, and while I've always had spring allergies, this has never been a symptom and even if it was, an allergic rash doesn't localize in toes, especially when I've been indoors all the time and not trudging through fields of pollen. The only thing I was left with was athlete's foot, but I know enough about that to know it just wasn't, and if it was, it wouldn't make sense to be localized to the same place on both feet at the same time, and so widespread.

I was planning on calling my Dr. this week if it didn't get better, but as the days went on, the inflammation/pain/swelling went down. Now it's just splotchy with small white spots.

I'm probably over-reacting, but the nurse at my hospital's covid line took it pretty serious so I have a video conference with a doctor in 20 minutes. I feel generally fine other than normal spring allergy poo poo otherwise.

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/23/us/ramadan-celebrations-coronavirus-trnd/index.html

this is an article about Ramadan starting tonight at sundown and it being from CNN I wasn't sure how it would be slanted. I was surprised by this

quote:

"When you tell people, it's actually good for you to learn individual prayer habits right now, people have a hard time making the connection because they're so used to praying at the mosque," Suleiman, who is an adjunct professor of Islamic studies at Southern Methodist University, told CNN.
Still, Suleiman said he does worry that the shift to temporary virtual worship could lead to an eventual lack of interest for in-person prayer. He said he's concerned that when Muslims are able to ditch their screens and return to mosques, they won't want to.

"There's something about embrace and praying together and being together and upholding traditional ritualistic forms of worship," he said. "And I don't want to lose that because we're feeling down about being quarantined this Ramadan. I don't want us to do something that's going to harm the trajectory later on."

this Imam feels that more people will want to worship at home virtually instead of going to a mosque in person and it made me so angry/sad because you've got these evangelicals that cannot be pulled away from their churches by a pandemic and they're likely the ones that would make them want to worship at home after the fact because of shootings and harassment. My best friend in HS and as a young adult was from Iran and the bs I heard and subsequently got into fights because of was mindblowing. They even had a "fake-fake" christmas tree in their front window just to get people to leave them alone (her mother liked pretty lights too)

Mayor John Cooper said officials will constantly be determining when it will be safe to reopen looking at key benchmarks: a decline in cases over a 14-day period, adequate testing and PPE capacity in the region, and a robust public health infrastructure to conduct contact tracing cases.

They forgot to include that one of the Nashville mayor's benchmarks is looking for a transmission rate of less than one person infected per infected person, in addition to the 14-day decline one, and this is currently projected to happen in late May

Coronavirus is so full of herself she wont roll out of bed for gatherings of fewer than 50 people at this point so this makes sense.

Medical schools will just be a few people huddled around the fires in the burning wreckage of once-great cities, so they won't be full time. Mostly because they have to fight off feral dogs and scavenge for food during the day.

the consent-manufacturing for lib college-goers has been winding up, been seeing the same chud-case being made for opening everything but with smart people words, and it's either:
-we found corona antibodies in lots of people and they're fine so the mortality rate must be really low
or
-if we dont reopen the economy, way more people in the third world will die (sad_looking_old_african_woman.png)

All the high-level failsons in my office have been work from home since March 13. Everyone else gets a convoluted schedule of when to show up and when not to. The other day one of them was bitching about work from home.

I'm like bitch please, I enjoy not having to drive 30 minutes each way to work, and the ability to eat a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch if I want. What's wrong with people and needing to physically go to work when they don't have to?

Yeah it turns out you can't really sell people on a quarantine (even a really mild 'please don't go outside much' one) if their basic needs aren't being met and their bills are piling up and the looming economic crisis a few months from now seems more pressing then distant stories of bodies piling up in NYC and Detroit. I mean, people are still being evicted in some states, and even in states with freezes people are starting to panic about how they'll catch up when the freeze lifts. If only there were simple things that we could be doing to make sure people didn't have that looming economic crisis clouding their judgement, like cancelling rent/mortgages and stuff.
