I realize that WHO 'no evidence getting it prevents reinfection' thing is just preliminary over-caution but it makes me wonder how capital would honestly respond if reinfection was common and widespread. Like what's more appealing? A years-long war of attrition between the economy and the virus until widespread vaccine deployment or a months-long full martial law lockdown and fully closed borders until internal eradication of the virus?

Animals carry and transmit the virus. Internal eradication would not be effective.

It's like saying I should be in charge because I'm the manager of a large diesel shop and since I know all about engines I should be able to figure out viruses. Epidemiology was not part of his training. Even if you think he's smart enough to get it, don't you think an infectious disease expert would be better instead of training another specialist from scratch? Are you so stupid that you think this equation is reversible? Do you think the Director of Infectious Disease at an institute can do brain surgery?

There's always something that can be learned. It's just western medical ethics boards weigh that the costs exceed the benefits. For example that guy with ALS or w/e that wants to do the head transplant. There's no way that would be allowed in the United States, but you can be sure there will be a ton of people that will be interested in observing and trying to learn anything that they can when it happens in Russia or wherever it's going to happen at.

I don't understand the Bill Gates conspiracy theory. It's extremely obvious that Disney is behind this. Marvel wrapped up. Star Wars wrapped up. The virus was released in China where they hate Star Wars and Disney. It all adds up.

My grandfather was convinced by some huckster in the 1970s that the real money was in, no poo poo, drilling water wells in sparsely populated areas in Southern Missouri. Moved the whole family from just outside St. Louis to a total shithole mining town. Just thinking about it pisses me off, and that gently caress has been dead for 20 years.

The virus hit us at a nearly perfect time to do stay at home for a month or two (after holidays, heck even spring break didn't do much damage) and all that time got wasted and now the difficult part is coming for the few states that are going to try to cancel July 4 and get ignored by the masses

Pretty sure that those secret Nazi and Japanese torture medicine advances are a myth, and that deregulation/demoralization of industries doesn't actually produce better or more results. I think it just creates a sloppy and amateurish environment. ... But I'm intrigued by the head transplant...
