The temple of void record is making me google vocal reduction software. It really must just be my problem but there’s so many albums that would benefit from turning down the vocals imo. Now if only it would work on my posts as well

Apocalyptica's covers of Metallica is the best way to listen to Metallica.

The Kins posted:TBH I would be totally down with more bands releasing instrumental versions of their albums. I don't think it's very common in the metal scene outside of a couple of prog bands, and even then there's mixed results (The Sons Of Apollo instrumentals strip out the guitar solos as well as the vocals!) There would be so many metal albums I would immediately want on vinyl if I could buy them as instrumentals. Solos too? I am very curious about that.

Alkymist has a new album. https://alkymist.bandcamp.com/track/draugr I really like this. Snowy posted:There would be so many metal albums I would immediately want on vinyl if I could buy them as instrumentals. Solos too? I am very curious about that. I feel so bad for the singer of The Ocean. They released an instrumental album because he was sick and released the same album with vocals when he was feeling better…and I like the instrumental one more. I doubt I'm the only one because the next album was also released in two versions. Pelagial is such a different album without the vocals. It's more depressing and crushing.

There’s a death metal band around me that released an instrumental album called “Brian’s In Jail” because... their vocalist was in jail.

drat that new An August for Crippled Children album is gnarly. The second track sounds like if New Order went black metal.

ok, so my favourite Serbs released a little something to honour the 10th anniversary of the passing of Pete Steele. https://terrorhammer.bandcamp.com/album/world-wars-iii-iv-in-memory-of-lord-petrus-steele A cover of a Carnivore song. But much more important is this: quote:Full download includes bonus track from the upcoming TERRÖRHAMMER album! !!!!! These guys were my favourite new discovery last year

The samples on any of the Fluids albums are just too much for me to handle. Horror movie samples, samples that are on PornoGrind recordings, those aren't a big deal, but real death stuff, even in audio form, I can't take it. It's too bad, because I love Mortician, and they haven't released a new album in like 14 years, so any Mortician worship would normally be right up my alley.

I was going to ask why there's no metal version of Der Heimliche Aufmarsch but just to make sure I checked and uh... It exists, but it isn't very good without the vocals… And youtube removed my bookmarked version of the original song for "hate speech" implying it's due to my country's laws which is…certainly creative. Not even close to factual, of course, and it's not exactly a secret that youtube is trash, but that's definitely pretty brazen.

X-post from the s/d/s thread. So this is the first thing I've recorded, mixed, and mastered, at the studio I work at, with my new band Abject Terror. 100% of the proceeds from bandcamp goes to us today, if you like it, please buy it, I need groceries lol. https://pureabjectterror.bandcamp.com/ Pokey Araya fucked around with this message at 00:46 on May 9, 2020 |

I gave it the new Fluids a full listen... it's much easier on my psyche than the last one. Total Mortician worship, really good. That last album, though, the samples were really rough.

I like their music a lot but I didn't realise the samples were real until I got a few songs into their first album. Then I made myself sad by googling them
