The campaign mode is a little ho-hum, but the career mode is great and that's what most of my games have been on. Man you weren't kidding. I've noticed tons of great little game design bits in it. Really a fantastic job of adapting the tabletop without just making it a straight port.

Streets of Rage 4 dropped today, I got it for the switch. Cleared stage 1 and holy crap the fighting feels so cool. Feels much like SoR 2 with additional mechanics. You can hit people into the side screen and hit them in the air for additional combos and damage. Of course you can get hit in the air as well now (when falling from an attack that is). Axel's jumping knee can hit and then hitting the attack button again in air immediately follows up with a jump kick if you don't want to fight on the ground. Can't figure out how to throw weapons which is bugging me. Music is on point, hopefully there is a track player (alot of bonus stuff is locked initially). Can't wait to play more of it, but school. And if you haven't seen the movie Streets of Fire from 1984, you really owe it to yourself to see where alot of these beat-em-ups got their tropes from. And you get to see Willem Dafoe in weird plastic overalls. Rick Moranis is in it as well.

Killing it on my latest game of the long dark. 29 days into a Stalker survival game and I already have a bearskin bedroll, deerskin boots, rabbit mittens and a wolf jacket, with extra hides and guts to repair all of it. Haven't even left my starting map of Coastal Highway. Did run myself out of rifle ammo though.

I might buy that on principle to show support. But that’s capitalism so I’m conflicted. If anyone else wants it let me know and I’ll pay for it. There, kinda-socialism.

I've had some time to digest Remake now, and honestly I couldn't be happier with it. I bitched about losing to the final boss, but I beat it the third time around because I took the time to prepare and fought intelligently instead of just hurling myself into the fight. That's a good difficulty. It is such a love letter to the original, and the really amazing thing is that it's written by people who know the original, not all the weird emo stuff. I give it out of 4 happy Luca's. And if I read the ending correctly, they are in effect saying we are just gonna do our own thing from here on out. Hell yes.

The new XCOM is good. It's definitely not a full XCOM game but the missions are fun and the class synergy is pretty great. Worth the 10 bucks it currently is going for, absolutely.

I had already happened upon an XCOM 2 replay, so I grabbed Chimera Squad. It's a lot of quick fun so far with smaller maps that get to the point faster than some of the sprawley micro-pod-activation maps of XCOM games. One of the details that is driving me insane, because my brain is broken: The APC garage is insanely designed. Imagine every time you QRF or RTB you have to make 2 90 degree turns back to back around an elevated ramp and wall. What the gently caress?!

There's even a random storyline quip about that exact thing you're talking about, I think Zephyr makes a comment about it. Says she gets sick every time the APC has to turn. Torque also says 'I didn't ask for this' when one of Terminal's gremlines heals/buffs her. The banter in the game is good.

RIP old water cooling loop. Quarantine bucks shouldn't have even gone to another computer part but my home office PC bit the dust (mini HDMI port broke, and that took the entire integrated GPU with it. So now I have to get old gaming rig working. My motherboard ports point up due to my big weird cool case, it should theoretically get similar performance thermally, but it's replacing a 3x180 radiator setup. I gotta get some pictures of how hosed my GPU waterblock is. Like it will work again but it's got a patina black that won't completely come off even with Barkeeper's Friend and toothbrushes. Should be ok but just doesn't bode well for the radiator; I'm gonna do a few vinegary rinses followed with some CLR, since nothing should be aluminum. Silence is important to me since this is a home theater/gaming PC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6hvsqUEtZ4 Let me know if this isn't interesting or the right place I just didn't feel like getting to know a different thread.

If its all copper then vinegar + salt + hydrogen peroxide will work as a homemade pickle solution. Although I've yet to find cheap PC parts that didn't have aluminum somewhere so be careful with the harsh chemicals. But also that oxidation isn't really going to affect cooling noticeably.

My PS4 sounds like it’s trying to take flight these days. It sits near where one of my speakers are and I have trouble hearing things if there is background noise (thanks army) so I either crank up the stereo (not really an option because I try to be a ghost to my neighbors) or don’t hear anything. I also don’t like headphones if I’m alone in the apartment, I get anxious (is that weird?). I’m hoping it will limp it’s way to the ps5 release.

My xbone does that all the time. And it really hates youtube for some reason, because it will cut off randomly. Then I reboot to a message about overheating. It's a first gen xbone too, I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

There's an aftermarket fan you can buy for both the regular and pro PS4 that stops it sounding like plane taking off but I'm also debating just holding out till PS5 or whatever the next XBOX is called. So I started playing Alien Isolation finally. gently caress that game is tense. Also started going back and playing AC Odyssey. I managed to get like a third into the game before letting it fall to the wayside cause of my move. I'm really looking forward to the viking one later this year.
