Chamberlain was booted out of the PM position after the debacle in Norway.

We had air raid wardens because people were god awful at keeping up with black out regulations and would ignore the sirens - when we even had sirens as there weren't enough to go around at first.

Tube stations were originally banned from being used as air raid shelters but were opened up only after crowds forced their way in.

There was a massive black market during the war, looting was rife and despite 1950's movies, stiff upper lip was a propaganda invention to try and stave off the panic from aerial attack like we had during the 1917/18 Gotha air raids.

Munition crises were a big thing in WW1 (shell crisis of 1915 anyone?) and WW2, we bought huge numbers of American aircraft, vehicles and ships at ruinous expense exactly because we couldn't produce enough of our own.

We kept Spitfires in the UK during the Battle of France despite the French screaming for more support, but also leaving the BEF without enough air cover. In fact, lets not think too much about the state the army was left in after we got the troops out of Dunkirk but left all the weapons behind for the Germans.

We were the biggest wool exporter in the world at the time and we couldn't produce enough battledress for the army.

Coal miners went on strike (1944 I think) successfully.

Among many many other peoples, the Nazi's killed many early transgender people - it was possible to change your birth sex in some parts of Germany Hitler came to people

The army uniform was modified in 1944 to make it more presentable as British soldiers on leave were complaining they weren't getting any action as the smarter dressed American GIs were snaffling all the girls.

There were riots between British and American troops due to the differences between how non-whites were treated.

From bitter memory because of the mutinies in the 19th Century the British army made changes to uniforms and battledress to accommodate soldiers of different faiths - flight helmets that could fit over Sikh turbans, vegetarian rations, allowing beards etc.

And the oficial reports had massively inflated victories and massively reduced losses - i.e. in the Battle of Britain we apparently shot the entire Luftwaffe down several times over for tiny losses.

I've been told multiple times by my family that atheism is a religion, and that I "worship the concept of nothing", so I guess we're pretty much already there.
