I get why people hate being quarantined. I get why people think the economy should start up. I don't agree, but I get where that's coming from.

I don't understand not wanting to do the absolute bare minimum and wear a loving mask.

I paid for baseball season tickets, season tickets to the symphony, and multiple concerts that have been canceled and haven't gotten any of that money back.

I understand people hate sitting inside, but jesus christ

Boomers got all the benefits handed to them by the previous generations (Silent generation and Greatest generation) who lived though the horrors of the Great Depression and WW2 and the hardships which followed it and wanted their kids to have everything they hadn't, plus they were also the first generation to grow up with TV and ads strongly targeted at their specific needs. A lot of them had the perfect Leave It To Beaver childhood during the 50s, then they either swung to the left during the counterculture movement of the 60s (only to swing back in the 80s) or were pushed further to the right. They were also pretty much the last generation to get really affordable higher education and housing, and then when they were hitting middleage the 80s struck and Reaganomics handed them a ton more money and they've been set ever since.

They've been told "The entire world made gigantic sacrifices for you to live your best life and you owe it to them to enjoy it to the fullest because you deserve it" continuously for over half a century now so it's no wonder they're gigantic pieces of poo poo

It is exactly this. He is a total coward. Remember the night Iran launched missiles at the US base in retaliation for our assassination of Suleiman, and we all waited to see if Trump would drag us into a war? And he didn't address the nation, but instead just tweeted at about 10 PM ET "All is well!!!"

And then the next day showed up for the national address he was forced to give, stoned out of his loving mind?

He's a coward through and through, has been his whole life. He was never fit to lead and was in over his head from the moment he was inaugurated. Every single GOP Senator who voted to acquit is complicit in everything that has happened since then. And one way or another, there is going to be a reckoning.

Trump isn’t a very good coward. He’s never faced consequences in his life, so while cowards have a self-preservation instinct, his has atrophied.

He still won’t face consequences, so it hardly matters.

Those aren't consequences for him though, he likes the warm padding for when he sits down. It also helps him retain a form of balance, as with all the rich the consequences trickle down (in a quite greasy, literal sense) to whomever cleans his diap.

Don't you tell me my business again.
Remember when Colin Kapernick and a few other NFL players wanted to address this poo poo peacefully and the right wing lost their god damned minds about it? Bet they'd give anything to go back to that rather minor controversy.

Kap asked a GREEN BERET MARINE the best way to go about his protest SPECIFICALLY to avoid offending soldiers and the guy told him to kneel. Be nice to go back to when all we had to worry about were a few athletes refusing to stand, wouldn't it? Now look where we are.

And that "problem" could have been solved easily.

There's no reason at all we have to play the National Anthem at sporting events. None. It's just a sporting event, not a political rally. It's not a litmus test for our patriotism. My enjoyment of a sporting event has never hinged on the playing of the national anthem with the possible exception of Whitney Houston's performance at the Super Bowl. My son does not need to pledge allegiance to the flag every morning at school nor have a moment of prayer in order to learn the things he'll need to know.

Kap was right and I bet CHUDS would love rewind time where all they had to worry about was a guy with a big afro wearing pig socks.

I don't have a violent bone in my body beyond basic self defense but for once I truly understand burning down buildings.

I went to the beach yesterday to watch the SpaceX launch and was honestly WISHING some cop would roll by and give me poo poo for an open container or what have you. I didn't see any cops on the beach which was odd. Usually they roll up on everybody here in Saint Augustine.

i don't think i'm going to talk to him about cops any more.

Huh.

Can you go into a little more detail?

Because that red text you have there and the rather generic way you told that story makes me want to know a little more. Is your brother a reluctant or apologetic Trump voter? Is he black? What were they questioning him about? Where does he live?
