I played a lot of SD1 and the 2nd is much of the same. Maybe the end game is different but I uninstalled only after two days. It's just such a boring an unengaging game.

I'm on dimension 3 of SD3. It seems really similar to the first. I think huntress is the only new class. Her gimmick is she gets a permanent .01 damage increase to that enemy each time she kill it.

There is now a crafting system but it just makes normal items buy at really rare enemy drops. I often have 100% of my gear found off enemies or buying it from the shop. And you lose all those items when you change dimensions.

There is a meta progression for class now. They level up the more you use them. Majority of the time it is just a rotation of +attack/hp/mp/damage reduction so it doesn't change much. Every 5 levels you cosmetic unlock for the class. You can only gain one level per dungeon run regardless of how much xp you get. There does seems to be a skill unlock for every class. but that seem to be quite a grind. I just unlocked the extra xp artifact so hopefully it goes faster as you progress.

Overall it seems to be a very similar gameplay loop to the previous game. Gain stats so you kill thing with higher stats to get better loot and stats. Repeat. So it seems like it is okay fun for a few days and then delete.

Tell me more? Better than Another Eden?

It'd be hard to compare it to Another Eden. It's more your typical gacha game with really good graphics and battle animations. The story is fairly entertaining, but has a good number of poorly translated lines, and doesn't compare to Another Eden.

The Legendary and Fated (4 and 5 star) characters all fairly unique in appearance, but some of them will have similar skills. This appears to happen when you move from a legendary to a fated character with a similar skill set.

It does seem like there are rarer fated characters and some of them will have upgraded skill sets of other fated characters. I wish I could find a wiki, I'd post an example.

There are also fate cores (costumes) that change the appearance and skill set of heroes. Most of them can be obtained through the gacha system at a low rate, but a few have to be purchased in the cash store. Those appear to be for legendary characters and I don't see many people buying those, unless they really like the character or costume.

There is a 5 second ad every other time you go through the dungeon, but there's an option to have an ad after each area for extra gold. There are also some 30 second ads to get certain bonuses like reviving or reseting the arena timer, but I haven't come across any mandatory ones yet.

The tools of a hero mean nothing without a solid core.

Does anyone know how the Fatecore skills work in Exos? I lucked into pulling the MC's Golden Dragon Knight of Brokenness, on the equip screen it shows his upgraded skills, but in actual combat it still shows his basic skills and I'm pretty sure the damage is the same.

Edit: unequipped and re-equipped the core (which was confusing on its own because I'm using the copy the core gave me and not the MC so unequipping it does nothing visually) and things are listing correctly now.

I fed my original Zeon to the dragon Zeon since it started with higher star levels but try going into Fatecore -> Manage -> Unequip. And then re-equip it on the Manage Heroes screen, making sure you see the skills change? I would hope it didn't matter but is your Appearance set to the upgraded one as well?

This is where I'm at right now character wise, at the start of Chapter 7. That First Guardian banner has been an insane source of legendary/fated units.

Yeah, re-equipping the core worked. Glad I pulled there on a whim, most of my currency has been going towards the set-pool gacha, got Fatecore Bathory from that yesterday and she's great too, though she doesn't have a passive that's too big to read like Zeon does.

I think the issue was that I equipped the core to both copies of Zeon (I can't eat him yet, he's on an expedition) and it's a finite item but something weird happened with the display. I'll play around with it more before eating the old guy.

Yeah the soda scripts are new, I like being able to control what happens during auto battle. I have a script for my medic set up so she only heals when super low on health since it's basically a full heal. I don't have any others set up right now but I'm sure people will come up with some pretty efficient scripts.

It definitely feels like a post-release chapter though if it's one of the 1 wave only stages those are intended to be tough since the goal is basically only to survive. I'm in chapter 9 and still haven't spent a dime. Only missing 3* on maybe 3 levels too. Though I'm sure pulling two dragon Zeons doesn't hurt. Fatecore dupes give extra secondary stats too.

There's a new limited banner for Anastasia too who is a great healer. No such luck on a fatecore version of her but the banners give me 2-3 legendary+ every pull basically which is a very solid rate.

Yeah just click the "..." Next to the stage marker and there are arrows to move between chapters at the top of the new screen. This is also where you can claim the rewards for 3* if you missed any cumulative reward claiming.

Not just one of the stages, everything in this chapter has been hitting really hard and getting multiple attacks and the dodginess prevents reliable lockdown tactics. If I drop an AoE I may break 3/5 of the enemy, or I may get punched three times and wind up at a sliver of life just in time for their regular attacks. I'm not fully writing it off yet, but I'm gonna have to poke at the grind and see if there's power-up stuff I'm missing.

Soda Dungeon 2 chat - has anyone been able to crack the boss on dimension 8? It heals for 3.2k when HP gets low, I am nowhere near doing that much damage in a round. This doesn't seem like a problem that can be solved by grinding.

Current setup - thief, hunter, 2x carpenter, 2x nurse. The hunter may be a poor choice because 'mark' also increases how much enemies heal themselves, but this group handles everything up to that boss effectively.

Have you tried Monica or Zarienne (probably someone else, too)? Their normal attacks reduce evasion for an entire round, and Zarienne's first skill increases the party's accuracy. They were almost mandatory to beat one of the first set of labyrinth floors, where the boss had high evasion and could blind the entire party.

For character power-ups, there is leveling up, enhancing with other characters or spirits, transcending with dupes to raise max level, and blessing to boost star rating. Equipment has its own version of leveling up and level cap boosting.

Make sure you're hitting up all the Bag icons on the World map too. You can get 4-5? a day and that's extra energy. Plus the 60 minute rewards, craftable energy rewards, etc. Grab all the energy out of your mail before bed that you couldn't spend and use the offline explore mode. That can be a significant amount of levels to lower level units as well as a good chunk of blessing/gold/abrasives.

It looks like it is pretty new and at least from the replies to reviews they are actively working to fix the bugs and crashes so that is good. Most reviews say it looks good and is fun except for the crashes so i'll give it a try and wait for them to fix their issues I guess.
