If the horror of that bmw is wearing off a little, that's one thing, but if you're beginning to think it looks good you need your head checked

The BMW engine and engine bay parts are a major turn off for me with that Supra. However as soon as Toyota releases the AWD Turbo Corolla, I'd be the first one in the queue for ordering one

Why is the rear end of the MK4 like 8" higher off the ground than the rest of the car? No wonder all the ads only show the car from the front.

I'm amazed they could make the A90 shorter than the A80 by *checks notes* removing the rear seats entirely

KYOON GRIFFEY JR posted:toyota block yamaha heads, right? Well, it's the 2ZZ-GE, same as in everything else. Toyota commissioned Yamaha to build the engine based on the ZZ block. I have no idea if the block is unmodified though and the changes that Yamaha did were only the heads, I don't know enough about the 2ZZ-GE design.

Toyota, regarding the 2ZZ: “We have a fun, high revving four cylinder that head flow experts Yamaha helped design. Should we put it in our mid engine sports car or the Corolla?” ![]()

Goonzquad got themsleves a crashed Mk V and are doing a teardown. It's absolutly facinating to see them discover another layer of absurd complexity stripping the front end back... like the five radiators (looks like at least one cooling system is reserved for the turbo, complete with it's own expansion tank and front wheel well radiator) and the longest headlights you have ever seen in your life along with a myrid of plastic trim. What an absolute servicing nightmare. Also it apparently does not have a dipstick and you have to check the oil level via the touchscreen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VEe9H_bgys (part 1) Even if you think they are annoying brats, it really is worthwhile to watch to take a deep dive in the Mk V

Porsche, Mercedes and Audi (off the top of my head) did away with the dipstick quite some time ago as well. It's not uncommon.
