Based on this, more bands need to cover Nirvana.

did anyone watch THE METAL STREAM OF THE YEAR?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcaKS9tSwRQ

In Flames has a real short set and played only one song from the albums you'd want to hear. Trivium play at a video game convention which is very on brand, the crowd is about silent (dont know if that is a recording issue or because they're watching Trivium), Lamb of God play a fuckin banger of a set, and I'm about to get into Grandpa Dave and Megadeth

Fantastic band, amazing even if you like melodeath. The new album was a pretty big step down, but Tarot is America's answer to the Wintersun s/t,

Unrelated, someone linked me this Greyhawk album. A track in, it's some great basic head bobbing throwback US trad/power.

I just saw bandcamp has a new feature for checking tags of music you like. Instead of just going "best-selling" or "newest arrivals" you can do "surprise me" and it'll shuffle some releases from that tag. Trying to find some new death metal that way and came across some cool stuff that caught my eye. Apologies if any of these have come up before.

Barbarossa. Death metal, sounds a little Finnish inspired to me: https://barbarossametal.bandcamp.com/album/he-who-walks-alone

Gorgosaur. HM, crusty death metal with an awesome name: https://gorgosaur.bandcamp.com/album/lurking-among-corpses

Terminal Function. Meshuggah worship. Not my style, but figured someone here would like it: https://krakstoren.bandcamp.com/album/the-great-liberator

Demonic Resurrection. Symphonic death metal from India. Again, not my style but someone is sure to dig it: https://demonicresurrection.bandcamp.com/album/the-demon-king

Alpdruck. Probably my favorite of the bunch. Very caverncore: https://alpdruckhell.bandcamp.com/album/alpdruck
