Yeah they tend to skew toward technical deathcore side of things anymore, but they still have some brutal death metal acts on there. Speaking of brutal, I know a few of you are like me and enjoy trashcan snares and broken toilet vocals. New Standard Elite has gotten with the times and not only uses bandcamp now, but actually doesn't charge much of anything for their albums. NSE feels a lot like what Brutal Bands, UL, and Unmatched Brutality used to do. I am very happy that Finntroll have stayed consistent for all these years. Still, this track sounds a bit like a step back, even; not in quality, but time. It's... traditional. Just a jumpy folky beat and some simple keyboards, none of those quirky steel pans and other more unconventional elements they've toyed with. Not that I have anything against those, but this just feels very cozy for someone like me who's been a fan since their second album. I'm happy.
