top 5 ultra-mega caps are all the wealth rn just getting pumped up further taking a large market share further taking up large % of passive index funds.

sometime here the rug is gunna get pulled out and the very rich are going to make out like bandits leaving the rubes to hold the bag. small cap is still getting obliterated on the down-low but it doesn't change number because its getting pumped into the top

just falling lol

What I mean by economic determinism is the idea that history MUST progress through certain economic conditions. So therefore slavery MUST end, or you MUST have a bourgeoise revolution before a socialist one. Marx himself started to question that before his death as he thought about Russia, and 1917 would prove that line of thought correct.

Now Marx obviously wrote during the war about how the North was acting as an agent of history, but there’s a big difference from it basically being a predestined outcome and a tendency for history to move in a certain direction. A lot of early 20th century historians (and leftists) were firmly in the former camp, but Marx was more in the latter camp.

my friend believes that patient investors simply understand that 20 years from now Musk will control 50% of the electric car market alongside an integrated support and battery infrastructure

so they are betting that tesla will have 50% of a 3 trillion dollar market

Thoughts?

i'm fairly sure that there is actually existing accounting showing the relative profitability of late chattel slavery relative to wage labour

I think an earlier post many pages back addresses this. All that profit doesn't translate into anything useful because you couldn't risk training and educating slaves for factory work. Thus the south was very under industrialized. The culture that wants to stay in the past loses out to the culture that wants to industrialize, even tho the southern plantations were wealthy.

auto manufacturers trade at 0.5 revenues so that's a 0.75 trillion dollars cap or 2x the current market value. Not much of a discount for 20 years of growth
