The other demiurges have let their fears and preoccupations hold them back from grasping that which they truly desire. It's most obviously with Solomon, where his pride in his perfect empire has prevented him from pursuing Royalty directly.

White Chain's desire to forge her own identity was stronger than Solomon's desire to crush her like an insect. His motivation is pure hesitation, just putting off the inevitable and maintaining the status quo. White Chain's will was to cut herself into a new shape, unconstrained by the fears, expectations, and social mores that have held her back for her entire life.

Yeah, she straight up said two pages before this that she doesn't have to win (under his terms) to win (achieve her goal). For her, this fight stopped being about him and his goals awhile ago.

I expect that she has not actually physically cut him and drawn blood. And I also expect that anything he'll attempt to do to her following this will fail, because she's achieved Royalty, while he can only hesitate in chasing it.

In K6BD, Royalty is a continuous cutting motion. It is action in pure pursuit of a goal without respect to self, history, or consequence. White Chain's desire to be understood by the world the way she understands herself is inescapably a goal of ego. That doesn't make it a bad goal! It's a perfectly fine thing to want. But it isn't royal, because it involves grasping at self-concept, at the perspective of others. Part of the reason Meti was the GOAT was because she had no regard for whether or not she was recognized as the greatest.

White Chain's arc has been about her obsession with self and meaning. The conclusion that, instead of relinquishing self to achieve meaning, or relinquishing meaning to actualize herself, she can achieve both without sacrificing either, doesn't really work with that.

Put another way: that White Chain can get everything she wants personally by doing the thing she wants (i.e. punching tyrants in the face) without sacrificing either runs the exact opposite to every other character in the story. Meti wouldn't have made Maya shave her head as a lesson if she thought Maya didn't like her haircut to begin with.

I really have to agree here, cutting Solomon doesn’t matter. The sequence is titled apotheosis, literally calling White Chain out as a new god; moving directly beyond the demiurges. No more gods of the seven part world. I like to read White Chain here as the child of Het and Prim.

Also White Chain totally breaks her own armor in panel 13.
