This is one of those things where someone wrote a program to generate large chunks of text that look like they say things but they really don't, while using the buzziest words it can find, right?

It tries too hard at whatever it's trying to do so it's pretty lame to me, honestly. That little lime green Geo pickup truck is way cooler both in concept, execution and ~artistic statement~.

I just assume all artist statements are jokes. If any of them are real they're still hilarious but for different reasons.

I don't know much about art but "exuberantly assert[ing]... outrageous authenticity to a bewildered audience in motion" sounds like a pretty accurate description of why driving cool cars owns.

Oh I didn't post it in here because I like Lambos and think they're cool, it was purely because I appreciate a Lambo owner with a sense of humour. I feel like those are rare.

I saw a spotless early (square) S-10 a while back and I was stunned. Those just don't exist in Illinois.

Not going to lie, I googled to see if anyone makes a 14" round sealed-beam. I want giant tilt-up headlights to be a thing now.

That artist statement is a great shitpost.

It's written in the way that will make anyone who doesn't care about modern art see it as gibberish, anyone who does will see as intentional gibberish, but the people who go to exhibitions because they think it makes them look smart will go hmm and nod their head and pretend they understand it.

I also love all the people on twitter and elsewhere complaining how he did that to a Lamborghini. It's a loving in production car they make ~2500 every year, not a loving mint gullwing.

I'm so glad off-road muscle cars are finally catching on.

I have several versions of the jet El Camino (and have seen the real one! They’re real jet turbines, but not functional of course), and I have the Green Light “Ford Falcon” as well. You have excellent taste.
Now you need to go find the 4x4 ‘70 Cutlass Hot Wheels makes, and the die cast of the James Garner Grabber 442 that Green Light also makes (I have both because I own a ‘70 Olds, so naturally I buy any I see...)

The wife and I were just driving out the Holland Tunnel into Jersey today and we saw a pretty epic VIP escort blow by on the other side of the freeway. Cop SUV's were blocking all the on ramps to let a train of about 25 cars through. It was the usual assortment of black SUV's and other black cars with crazy radar spheres on their roofs. There was an ambulance too and some bigger cargo trucks, all hauling rear end. The front and rear had 5-6 standard NYPD cars screening it with lights on. We're still speculating what it could have been.

Tell him about the blower!

I bought some new wee little cars:

Monogram Exacts HO (1/87) scale models.

I already had some, but noted that there was an FC RX-7 model, so had watched a few of those on eBay, including this group of cars. The seller offered a discounted buy it now, so I took them up on it. 5 of the cars are duplicates, but that still leaves 9 I did not have.

Here's the ones I have:

0.o
Uh. guess I'd better dust them.

Because I bought some new toys, I spent 2-3 hours dusting and rearranging all of this:

Nice part is that by rearranging and packing a bit closer, I got some stuff up there that wasn't before, so there's that.

I particularly like this GT40 that my dad built as a kid:

Lots of working features - wheels roll, front wheels turn, half-shafts turn with the rear wheels, removable spare tire, and all the opening panels. Unfortunately the vinyl tires are slowly melting the wheels. I did glue a number of small bits back on that had gotten knocked off over the years.

There's also my IMSA Mustang, and some other oddballs:

They all also got various bits glued back on.

Someday I will have enclosed displays for this stuff. Someday...

that’s great. there’s a concrete/pavement company in my hometown of Madison WI called Poblocki Paving. they have a digital billboard on I-94 that always has some great PG-13 punny joke on it, but back in the day when it was a much smaller company, their motto — printed on the back of every truck — was

Question for you folks, I have some antique/old car toys and I have no idea what they are worth but they need a new home. Is there a thread or a resource for info on these? Would it be ok to post them here to see if there is interest? If so, I have no problem putting up a thread on SA Mart. I don't know where else to ask.

That GT40 is awesome, whenever I try to put a model together it ends up a mess and I just stick to diecast.
