They're going to yammer about power costs and how the machines are being moved. They're not going to mention how they cost nothing to idle and that the machines were moved to the dumpster. This whole thing is either an ideological attack on a "bloated" government agency, or there's money to be made for Republican interests in DHL/UPS/FEDEX etc. Don't know quite yet, but it's there.

There's also the election poo poo, like Post Office clerks no longer allowed to be a witness for mail-in votes, but the whole loving thing stinks in so many ways it's hard to track.

I'm pretty sure that DHL/UPS/FEDEX/etc want the post office to exist the way it currently does - they rely on the post office to deliver "unprofitable" mail and sell space on their planes to the post office.

USPS is, outside of the military, the most popular agency of the US government. If the GOP wasn't so focused on trying to destroy middle-class jobs and unions that employ a diverse workforce they might be able to see that this isn't the best target. But alas....

On the flip side, willingness to fight for unpopular positions that are in line with their ideology is probably a big part of why their voters will crawl over broken glass for them. It's hard to dispute that the conservative project has worked towards its policy goals over the decades, and unpopular positions over those decades don't seem to have stopped them.

This is where the Paul’s’ weird true believer stuff comes through. He probably believes that social security should be eliminated, but if it exists it needs to be paid for. The worst thing to happen from his point of view is to decrease the payroll tax and leave the benefits alone because DEBT and END THE FED.

It's a fantastic little film that explores the history of the car, George and Sam Barris, and the mentality of a lot of the guys in the so cal hot rod/custom scene - having grown up around some of the guys in the documentary and knowing George personally, this is such a cool look in to a moment in time.

Yes but Biden and Harris are not the ideal candidates who are not progressive in any way so naturally we must reconsider if voting is even a worthwhile task and :words:

Seriously ever since Harris was a lock it seem like everyone I know online has been complaining about how the election is just another lesser of two evils contest.

The election is not between a centerist liberal and a centerist conservative.

It's between a conservative Democrat and a loving wannabe Hitler.
