He also hosed up his response to the 2008 housing crisis using the troubled asset relief program to keep the landlords and banks afloat instead of working directly with renters The government gave financial institutions a good deal on toxic assets (houses), sat on them for 6 years until the market recovered, and then sold them back to the same financial institutions. OK on gays while doing nothing to stop the concentration of wealth

So now I'm starting to wonder if the Dems want to win at all. They spent last week telling off the leftists and turning to the center to try and draw in moderates and never-Trump Republicans, even backing off on cutting fossil fuel subsidies. Then on the last night of the convention they talk up how Joe wrote the AWB and brought up the only issue that will alienate the center and right faster than abortion as a policy plank.
