1st Lt Steven has successfully given herpes to a colonel's wife. Bonus points: it wasn't even infidelity. The colonel's into wifesharing.

I got into a fight with my Chief over the recent UCMJ changes. Adultery got redefined and also gave folks an out if the married folks are legally separated or the servicemember had a reasonable belief that they were. No more Article 15s for dating while you're pending a divorce or hooking up with a girl who swears she was single but turns out her husband is deployed. A girl I was dating had a soon-to-be ex who kept calling my shirt trying to get me nailed, which died when my commander called me in and I showed her the new UCMJ and the paperwork. Technically we were dating about couple weeks before the separation went on paper, but my commander straight up says "if she said she was separated, are you gonna ask for papers on a first date?" Good boss. Fast forward a few months and I'm bringing her to a holiday party. Get pulled into the Chief's office the day prior where she and the shirt both try to threaten me with getting a no-contact order if I brought her, simply because her now-ex is constantly calling them trying to start poo poo. I tell them they're loving high if they think it's acceptable to try to pull this the day before the party after she bought an outfit and everything, and that I'll just give them the ticket and head to the casino instead. They have the balls to suggest "we'd really appreciate it if you would still stop by and support the unit event." At that point I just got pissed off, told them I'll keep the tickets and called their bluff. Took her and her girlfriend to the party in matching dresses and the commander thought it was cool as poo poo.

Holy poo poo my favorite part of being a Shirt is trying to piss off spouses that are calling to get my member in trouble. If they call with a valid issue I'm all over helping but the second they sound vindictive and want my guy in trouble I shut down and go into passive aggressive mode. Even better if I can get them trying to call the Wing and complain.....

This guy was evidently repeatedly calling the HAF IG to file complaints, despite them repeatedly telling them the CC had looked into it and he'd pretty much need physical proof I was balls deep in his ex while knowing she was married and not legally separated. Dude was also driving by my house despite living about an hour away and the primary reason I had a loaded Glock stashed by my front door. He never had the balls to confront me in person though, just send really bitchy texts messages after he snagged my phone number off of one of her friends (who she bitched out). My commander's response to all that? "Please don't shoot this motherfucker until after I PCS. Or, like, ever, but especially not until then."

The golden boy commander with a Ranger scroll combat patch in my BDE was relieved within 5 months of taking command due to something adultery related. His wife was also in the BDE, must have been some pretty damning evidence. I can't imagine wanting to get laid so bad you would risk and then lose your career over it.

This girl was telling me about a classmate of hers with severe Aspergers. She ends the story with “and then he joined the Army.” I instinctively ask “Wait, is he in Intel?” She does a double-take and says “How did you know that?” You can learn so much from GiP.

It's honestly easier for me to count the (male) professors I know who haven't hosed undergrads than the ones who have. I knew a department where the wife was a spousal hire when the husband was who the department wanted, he hosed his way through his classes and they got a divorce, he became chair of the department but refused to let her have access to their kids if she moved out of state to the university she had originally wanted to go to (it's a hosed up southern state with extremely punitive laws around joint custody if one parent moved away). She was a good researcher, but basically hung around the department like a ghost at a feast and everybody avoided making eye contact with her.

That must depend on the school, I had two professors and a TA get fired for banging students when I was in undergrad. And then another one got fired for his out of control alcoholism making the news twice.

I think some schools are setting up better policies on professor-student relationships, but there's a lot of inertia. I once mentioned the need for that kind of a policy to a group of professors I was talking to, not even at the school I mentioned above, who I assumed all agreed with me and I was shocked how many of them - men and women - basically said "everybody involved is an adult, it's not appropriate for the school to tell adults what to do with their bodies." This was all before #metoo, so hopefully things are changing.

I had a similar circumstance at Osan, met a lady out in the SED through another female friend, had some drinks and went back to her place. She was in a nice apartment so I figured she had a nice job or something. Had fun and next morning she offered to order black noodles for breakfast. Whips out the wallet and from my position on the couch I instantly see the dependent ID. Me: "Uuuuuuuuuuh, what's that about?" Her: "Oh, I am getting a divorce, he was abusive." Me: "Getting? Where is he now?" Her: "He's had to move on base, he's in the Army." So I spent the rest of the time hanging out with her assuming that some angry Army dude was going to be busting the door down, but I guess he was on base restriction. I even helped her fill out her divorce paperwork, but decided there was crazy on both sides and just stayed friends.

Wife spent so much of his money he had a side career at HD that was almost as long as his naval career. Even better if I can get them trying to call the Wing and complain..... Its even better when the spouse brings a guest on base who happens to be a Hells Angel, wearing colors, and the guard let's them on. Then our compound gate guard lets them in because, and i quote, "dude was a loving hells angel." They then go to the quarterdeck, where a very nice but very dumb 2nd class lets the CO know that a spouse and her guest are waiting outside his office for their meeting. (Prior to this she had been calling the QD for weeks, and most watchstanders hung up on her. Unless the CDO was a true cock of a chief, at which point you forward the call to their duty cell every single time.) Cue every masterchief (we had 4, including CMC) at the command showing up on the QD, followed by MAC in a loving plate vest and M4 to "question" them. Nothing happened to either watchstander, and im not even sure if they reported it to base security.

Two, why kill our jobs? We're both married with kids. Three, we're both fat assholes who could never do it anyway, so why be the creep? Because that poo poo is beyond creepy and gross. I think popular still torn on whether the guy implicated is actual responsible like the guy who burned the sub 3 times to get out of work early or is just a scape goat like they blamed the bsttleship turret on because according to the navy he was gay (and conveniently for them dead)
