I just suddenly realized I have 50k shekels more than I thought I did. Was there by chance a big cash reward on recovering Morningstar? That was the only remotely advanced thing I was working on last night, exploring the northeast post-denver.

So I came across the Scorpitron as I was driving around and I get into a fight with it, and started clearing out the little robots. Ran over a couple of them with Morningstar and then noticed that I could drive it into Scorpitron. As soon as I touched it, it died. Complete anti-climax lol The loading times are really starting to get to me - I just came back to Colorado Springs after a long time out questing, and going through loading screen after loading screen is just awful with how long they take. I'm also getting pretty bad stutters every time I press Shift to see interactibles, which is extremely annoying. Bardeh fucked around with this message at 23:34 on Sep 2, 2020 |

Quick question: locked up the fake Scotishman, headed to the casino to investigate further. Headed back to the sheriff before freeing Delgado. Had two conversation options, one regarding McTavish and one regarding Delgado, picked the Delgado one, was told to bust up the casino. Busted up casino, freed Delgado, headed back to the sheriff. When I talked to her she mentioned the action at the casino, but nothing about McTavish, and then the conversation was over. Now I've no option to talk about McTavish and the whole thing seems to be over. Did I miss out on anything by not talking about McTavish with her when I had the chance? It feels like I've skipped something I oughtn't skip.

Well I beat it and enjoyed the hell out of it, so I want to give my opinion on the last few story bits. Angela Deth is a goddamn moron. She's out to save the people of Colorado, so her plan is to blow up the head of the only faction that's not straight up murderous to everyone, while handing off the reins of all the most murderous psychopaths to the biggest and baddest murderous psychopath because he's going to go full on murderous psychopath in the other direction. Somehow it never crosses her mind that there are people in Kansas whom corbite is going to go full hitler on, and she'd hold responsibility for dreaming up the plan. Putting that aside, the patriarch is a tyrant who plans to hold the throne forever, but he's responsible for creating what's probably the largest major refuge from the apocalyptic hellscape of the USA, where all the major players are pretty much fanatics, slavers, murderers, or cannibals, more often then not, some S&M mix of all four. It's actually good enough to have a major refugee problem, being where all the people run to get the hell away from the gangs. He's got some serious statesman chops, where even his secret underhanded dealings with the major gangs read to me like he bought them off while buying time to over power them, especially given that the deals had been stopped by the time you uncover them, after he'd performed two coup d'etats on two of the most dangerous. The biggest problem with his regime is that he's dying and his kids are all dumb assholes who will lead everything to ruins seconds after seizing power, so there's at max a decade before he croaks and there's a violent civil war for the throne. Best case scenario is probably some variation of the hundred families taking charge, given that the marshals are essentially corrupt militant goons. Dealing with the kids was fun, Valor is such a non-entity I basically forgot he existed, I shot Victory in the face with 0 hesitation, and locked up Liberty without a fight with a max speech check. I really regret maxing the -rear end skills, since instead of cool set piece fights with the major players, they just give up entirely, cut to credits.

I just noticed something: I tried to level up my Hard rear end skill and it said I didn't have the points because it would cost 4. Then I removed the Ranger Veteran Star with its +1 hard rear end...and now it said it cost 3 and I could level it up. This would seem to indicate that the game treats any +1s on gear as your actual skill for purposes of buying more points, so make sure to remove any +1 skill gear before you go spending skill points.

Ok so you are willing to gently caress over Arizona to "save" Colorado, when the patriarch is the only thing keeping the murderous slaver cannibals out of Colorado to begin with? She even says Cordite was to go off to his "blood soaked destiny" in Kansas too, so you are willingly loving over two states to depose the only competent ruler this post Apocalyspe has ever seen? Which would absolutely create a power vacuum where everything falls to poo poo and be way worse than what you perceive to be the bad stuff. This game does the "shades of gray" way better than 90% of games that attempt it, but on this note its Morally ambiguous versus destructive incompetence.

The Patriarch has a line early on when you ask him about Liberty where he says "she's interested in ruling, not in governing", which sums up every other current alternative to the Patriarch. "The Patriarch does lovely things to maintain power and his enforcers are corrupt assholes" is kind of a weak argument to depose him when he's created a mostly stable, functioning society with things like sustainable food production, trade, energy resources, education, etc. while his rivals are busy fighting over who looks the most fetching wearing their enemy's skin as a coat.

From what I've read, both of them fail if you go to 3 enter/exit your vehicle without resolving them(not sure if that just means going to 3 different locations or if random encounters count for it as well). Apart from that, I don't think there's a time limit to the game. Not sure about the safe thing. Pretty sure they will stay there forever until you unlock them.

The character swap bug is bumming me out. Looks like to fix it you have to load a save from before they were removed from your party, not before you tried to readd.

Does the character swap bug only happen to your original 2 party members? I've never seen it on anyone else so what I do is just delete my first 2 party members and make 4 new rangers at the start of a game. I give the original 2 skills good for the dam segment but not how I want them in the rest of the game.
