I AM UNJUSTIFIABLY PROUD OF MY SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE RECIPE

YES, IT IS AN INCREDIBLY SIMPLE DISH

NO, IT IS NOT NORMAL TO USE A PEPPERAMI INSTEAD OF MINCED MEAT

YES, THERE IS TOO MUCH SALT IN MY RECIPE

NO, I WON'T STOP SHARING IT

more like BOLLOCKnese
In any case I dont have a problem with Starmers stance here, the much worse decision would be insisting on relitigating the brexit decision forever

The whole "switching to remain sunk Labour" thing is really revisionist, the 2019 locals and euros were really bad for Labour and the continued soft brexit stance was incredibly unpopular

Its quite likely that in the circumstances there wasn't a good answer and sticking with brexit would have just meant losing Putney, Canterbury, Plymouth etc. while alienating the membership

There wasn't a good position, but it was made acutely worse by the centre-right inside and out of the party doing two solid years of WHY WON'T YOU STOP BREXIT JEREMY and doing everything it could to pry a wedge between the leave and remain wings of the party. It's worth remembering in the 2017 election the coalition did hold behind a soft brexit position and it was vital that the same could not be allowed to occur again in 2019

Do British people realize that opinion in the US is generally pro-united Ireland, if a USian knows about the issue at all. I can't see British loving with Good Friday Agreement getting US backing.

All the smears about Corbyn being pro-IRA were hilarious to me, because we have GOP politicians in office who are pro-IRA.

Americans also generally don't really care about it all that much though. The average American doesn't even know NI exists as a separate entity, and the average American politician sure as hell isn't going to let it get in the way of killing more poors/bombing more brown people. Pelosi will have conveniently forgotten about this the second an actual deal shows up, and even if she doesn't will fold the second any pressure at all is applied by anyone.

is this these people's first time realising that international law is very much a thing rich countries opt in and out of?

i guess the issue is we're starting to move from rich country to poor country and those definitely don't get to decide

we've even had an assassin kill an mp with a home-made gun.
naturally it was one of the 3 good MPs and the gammon who killed her was fired up by the fascist papers that tried to get them to kill corbyn too

the gammon then got everything he ever wanted politically and the whole of british politics is now coloured somewhat by their fear of the gammons and their non-fear of the left, so the lesson here is to get 3.5% public support and oppose the government non-violently.
