I'm getting involved in PSTH because the market is pretty up and I want to be holding something while I wait for it to pull back. I hope this SPAC doesn't burn me like SPAC's have burned people the other two times in the past two weeks!

If they suddenly announce a target just ride the initial wave and cash out. I don't think they're supposed to announce for a while though.

Don't buy warrants on a SPAC with no LOI or even an announcement of the target. The common price is near the $20.50 NAV and is the safe place to store cash. Same idea with HCAC.

Every share of PSTH has (at least) 2/9 of a warrant attached as well. Keep that in mind when trying to value it.

HCAC has already announced it's agreement to enter into a merger with Canoo in August. How much action is there really left to be had?

Since it's basically at NAV after initially pumping to $13, it's a freeroll on any merger run-up, partnership/contract announcements, etc

We bumbled through this a couple pages back, but yes. It's actually slightly more complicated because there's a set pool of warrants to hand out after merger, so theoretically if a bunch of people cashed out, the remaining commons owners could get even more partial warrants.

In any case, initial units came with 1/9 warrant. After merger date, commons will receive an additional 2/9 warrant. NAV for commons is $20. Warrants can be exercised for $23.

So warrants currently reflecting a ~$30 price, commons about $24 if you include the value of the post-merger warrants. Warrants look overpriced, but I've been dumb and wrong about this before!

Supposedly it's loving with people's broker dashboards too in terms of calculating cost basis.

That was me, and it was half-in, and I got burned pretty much completely (unless DPZ gains $16 in one day tomorrow, lol) but I'll try to get out with whatever I can at this point. It wasn't a huge amount of money (relatively to most people) so no problem. If someone could just inverse every play I make that I call out, they'd be inconceivably rich considering how I have an amazing knack for making the wrong call every single time I enter a trade.

This means you should inverse my Trump-won't-leave-office VIX call, naturally. Thank me later.

edit: Thank me, and pay off the rest of my car loan. There's just $2000 left, should be a pittance for you. Thanks.

I got most of my Xilinx shares around $70-$80 but have a turd lot sitting at $118/share from the 5G stupid poo poo / pre-China pissing match from last year. $30B roughly comes out to $123/share I think, so just barely clearing on that lot.

AMD on the other hand... well, lets just say I forgot to buy more when I really, really should have.

gonna post this for like the dozenth time ... not to mention when i bought at $10 and sold at $16. And I'm still a little bitter about selling LSCC.

My cost basis for XLNX is 85.55 and I have a January $100 call that I'm like 250% up on, and was thinking about actually exercising at expiration. Don't think it's gonna be a 60% premium like the redhat buyout, but XLNX was such an easy buy. The huawei stuff is pretty much inconsequential.
